My second ever composition made for my second semester music theory class's final project! I'm very pleased with the way it turned out, especially since I toiled on it for months. It got an "A" grade! Well, it was written as a song for voice and piano, so it actually has lyrics, but this is the MIDI version that I heard when I was composing it, using the "Finale Notepad" software. I got the lyrics online. Apparently it's an Italian nursery rhyme. The reason you see a picture of a butterfly is because 'farfallina' is the Italian word for 'butterfly'. Here are the lyrics, if anyone cares: Farfallina, bella e bianca, vola, vola, mai si stanca! Gira qua e gira la. Ecco, ecco a trovata, bianca e rosa colorata. Gira qua e gira la! Oh, and sorry if there were some odd harmonies you didn't like. I was required to use an Augmented 6 chord, a secondary leading tone or dominant, and a borrowed chord. So I used a German Augmented 6, several dominant of dominants, leading tone dominant of dominants, and dominant 7 of something else, and a borrowed minor iv.

Buffalo Springfield was a rock group that served as a springboard for the careers of Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay and Jim Messina, two of whom played in rock, pop, folk, country and acoustic group Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young later in their career. Buffalo Springfield is best known for the song "For What It's Worth". After the band's formation in April 1966, a series of disruptions, including infighting and the pressure of working in the music industry, resulted in constant changes in the group's lineup and ultimately culminated in the group's disbanding after roughly 25 months. Sandro Benini, beloved baker and friend from the village of Donnini, died today, February 18th. His artistry came not only through his traditional Tuscan bread that he baked daily in the 'Forno' his family founded nearly a 100 years ago, but in everything he touched. Opera singer, gardener, interior designer, Sandro had a way of expressing his passion for beauty in the most elegant way. Generous and kind, the most important thing he touched was our hearts. Here he sings 'Parlami d'amore Mariu' by Vittorio de Sica. You'll notice he uses my name, Peggy (Sue-which it isn't but it rhymes) instead of Mariu. He graced us with song for 15 years at 'La Cucina al Focolare'.
