UPDATE: Kiko's eye is better!!!! So after just returning from the ER, after awaking to find one of Kikos eyes completely dilated and grey.. Im in a somber mood, so thought I would make a video with a sober soundtrack. Poor little Keeks, I always knew there was something wrong with her legs, but all the vets seemed to think she was just double jointed and there was no issue. Well her legs have been getting progressively worse, and so finally I went to a specialist who found out that she has no ankles (hocks). Instead of a ball and socket there are just two bones meeting. Nothing holding it together. I am in the process of making her leg braces, however it is a very tricky task. I have tried quite a few prototypes, with much failure. Either 1- the impose on Kikos movement 2- they dont stop the leg from inverting 3- are uncomfortable for her. So I have just been limiting her activity. Poor thing, another option was to have the bones in her legs fused together, but that would not enable her to curl up in a little ball like she loves to do each night. :( Luckily she is not in pain. You can actually see in the photographs of her running that her legs are bending the opposite way. They look like they are made of rubber. The pictures were taken at the lure course by someone called Gary Gionet back in 2007 during one of her runs. I got the pictures off the luratics website, and so hope that it is alright to use them in this video to remember how Kiko used to love the course a lure!

Hare coursing is a cruel blood sport carried out around Ireland. Hares are removed from their habitats and kept in captivity for weeks. Eventually they have to run for their lives in front of greyhounds. The dogs have muzzles on them but as you can see from this video, this makes little difference to the hares. They are pummelled into the ground and may suffer severe internal injuries, including broken bones. Please send a protest email to Ireland's Environment Minister, John Gormley (Green Party). I took an assortment of events that I have photographed over the last nine years and seamed them together in a tapestry slide show. The slide show starts out with the Rolex Three day Eventing Web definitions for Three day eventing is one of the most exciting horse events I have EVER photographed. If anyone DOUBTS that horses are one of the MOST athletic animals, you need to watch what these horses do in three days. They break through all these barriers that you would scratch your head and say There is NO WAY. These accomplished Olympic equestrians come from all over the world and are peak athletes. My mouth just dropped as I watched these horses do almost impossible feats. It is a very dangerous sport for horse and rider. I did this years ago and I sprain my ankle really bad jumping from one spot to the other but I had to get this. Then I did the International World Cup Polo in Palm Beach back in World Cup in 2001 and was lucky and captured the winning team. I just walked in with my two Nikons and three lenses and started photographing the players down at the finish line. Another group of skilled athletes. Filming polo is like sitting in the middle of five locomotives coming towards you at 40 mile an hour and the tracks meet in the middle. The polo players are all trying to push the other ones out of the way and all are trying to hitting a small ball thats not even two tennis balls sizes with a very long pole. This is a graphic birth video of Ibizan Hound baby Tutu Fiona in 2006. Mom is Ana Alisian. New babies are planned this fall. Please be kind to the humans. The labor started early on a Sunday Morning... :^) One can hear Greg Harstad's voice. Greg was a wonderful friend and dog photographer. He passed on Thanksgiving of that year after visiting the puppies each week for seven weeks and helping with their birth. I am happy this experienced dog man had the opportunity to help with one more litter; he loved Ana since the first time he judged her at her first match as a puppy. This is the Alisian Fields' Braveheart litter. So far all puppies that have Lure Coursed (3) have won Best in Fields their first weekend out.(Kenzie, Bridge and Fiona Tutu) Plus many Big Conformation brags at specialties etc. Mom is Jemm's Exquisite Ana Alisian 2005 Breed National #1 Ibizan Hound, #2 in 2004/ #1 Owner-handled. Westminster AOM winner and always Amateur Owner Handled. The first puppy born is Bridge/ Bridgey who ran off for the AKC National Lure Coursing Championship Best in Event her Second weekend ever.
