This is for the xingyi lovers out there! This is Feng Zheng-bao, a Shanxi xingyiquan and xinyiliuhequan expert that is popular in Japan. In this clip he shows xingyi training that is rarely revealed to the public: jing training, xingyi push hands, the difference between mingjing and an jing, and towards the end -- the pan gen circle walking of xingyi. The movements of his dantain are clearly seen as is the concave/convex motions of his back -- making this DVD one of the best to have for viewing xingyi power generation. Enjoy!

Since we only have two arms and two legs, it isnt uncommon to see common tactics found within different martial art styles. For example, "Pak sau" is found in western boxing. And "Tzuann chuan" from xingyi is found in boxing as well (although used a bit differently). I truly think that the young and old, the modern and ancient come learn alot from eachother, because they both live in the present day. Boxing- Footwork, head-movement, variety of punch angles, good defensive shell/body structure/keeping hands up, Hook punch, good conditioning exercises such as the "evaluation line drill". Lacks kicks, clinch game, takedown, and overall self-defense XingYiQuan- Agressive/Explosive stepping (flat footed isnt good from the outside, but good on the inside), variety of punches including vertical and horizontal, palm slap/strike, eye poke, knee strikes, clinch tactics/grabs, elbow, takedowns, stomps. Lack complex footwork, no hook punch, limited defensive tactics, limited kicking tactics Wing Chun- Speed, variety of parries, Chain punching, limited footwork (yet has some angling and agressive, a bit better than xingyi's footwork), variety of practical kicks, eye pokes, elbows/knees, pak sau, bong sau Lacks- variety of punches, limited takedowns (besides sweeps), needs to modify guard, limited wrestling tactics/clinching These are all just basic points.
