Classic VHS of The Maui Windsurfing Grand Prix 1982 - This event filmed by Tom Tatum was the premier to probably defining every other Windsurf event to follow (well before O'neill invitations and Aloha Classics). The Video grabbed both aspects of windsurf competition with Course racing, Slalom and Wave disciplines and melded them into a highly watchable scheme. Interviews with Robby Naish, Mike Waltze, Ken Winner and Julie DeWerd created the windsurf celebrity. Look out for Arnaud De Rosnay the windsurf adventurer. It really was a pioneering video with great music as well. Loved Every minute of it! Thanks to Tom Tatum for historic capture.

www.epicsessions.tv Wednesday, April 27th, 2011 was another standard spring day at Hookipa Beach Park. World champions, top pro's, local standouts, and traveling tourists alike hit the water to take advantage of the consistent winds and waves the north shore of Maui has to offer on the regular. Typically, only the few who stop at the beach or pass by on the highway get to enjoy the action live. However, on this Wednesday, EpicSessions.tv extended that opportunity to anyone who could get online, broadcasting live-streaming video of all the action as it unfolded. In addition, a handful of riders at Hookipa rode with a new piece of technology that could record and transmit their jumpheights so viewers who were watching online knew instantly how high the rider jumped. Objective competitions, enhanced on site reports, training analysis, legitimate bragging rights, and more, this new twist of having 3D information about a rider brings to light endless possibilities. How this information will be used in reality and to what extent will it have value has yet to be fully determined, but one thing we know for sure is it's pretty fun to jump head to head against your friends knowing exact heights! Just to double check, we headed down to Hookipa for a live test to see if others felt the same way on the 27th, while waiting for the right conditions for Oxbow's Ride The Sky, the first competition to feature this new format.

Classic VHS 1980's windsurf video - First part is the Pan Am Cup which was the premier windsurf event of its time. Second Part is Robby Naish wave jumping at Diamond head with Karl Messmer on early prototypes of Mistral take off. Last Part is taken at the North Shore with Robby on proto Mistral Take off. Other Sailors are Cort Larned i think (blue and yellow sail), Ken Winner (all yellow sail and board) and Malte Simmer on first fat head sails with yellow swallow tail board. I truely loved this video and watched it religiously, just loved the music by Michel Stelio. Many Thanks to Jean-Luc Breitenstein for his wonderful creation to capture these great days. Thanks to Robby for showing us how to sail! If you like the Music as much as i do the tracks are as follows: Track 1 is "Early Morning" by Michel Stelio and i think is sung by Tina Provenzano. January 4th marked the fist big swell of 2012 to hit Maui, Hawaii. Pe'ahi, aka "JAWS" was being tested by paddles surfers, tow-surfers, windsurfers and kiteboarders. Epic 40-60 foot waves were pounding the North Shore with insane wipeouts and epic rides!
