Correction to Part 1 origin of this video: The pole vaulting video actually originated from Kyle Bishop. He coached Kevin Brown at henrico HS, who later went on to vault for UNC CH, and made the Olympic Trials twice. Kyle did give it to coach James who then passed it along to me, and I wore the thing out. I'm glad to see you got it on you tube to share it with the world. It is probably the best collection of vaulting ever put together. Next time you come this way drop the tape off in my mailbox if I'm not at home. It's one of my prized possessions. First run of the new helmet camera. www.goprocamera.com A lot of people have asked me what it's like to vault and there's only so many words you can use to describe it. I did this to help them understand generaly what I see although the only way to know how it actually feels is to experience it for yourself. This was taken at an all comer meet at Civic Statium in Bellingham, WA. It's a recreational even hence the reason I keep going after my third attempt at 14-6. This is only my second time vaulting post season so after three weeks of not vaulting and then having to wait a week between meets, my form has come apart a little, but I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things and I'll get my form back to where it should be. I mountain bike as well so expect to see similar videos from that.

This is when Devon won America's first ever gold medal at a vaulting world championships, still the only male to ever do so. His routine is performed on a German horse named Whisky longed by Marion Gotshalk Doering. His music, edited by Devon, was a mix of songs from Bjork's Homogenic album. The uniform was inspired by the outfits worn in one of Merce Cunningham's post modern dance performances. This is the first year that Devon embraced his newly found appreciation for modern dance as inspiration for his choreography.
