Nicanor who is a full brother to Barbaro will have his first race on Sat. 1/31/09 at Gulfstream Park in Florida. Edgar Prado will be the jockey. Post Time is about 4:30 PM EST. A 1 mile maiden race. Nicanor drew the 4th post position out of 12 horses. I own nothing. Full credit goes to the rightfull owners of all the images.

The Secretariat legacy is an amazing gift to horse lovers of every kind. Here is one of the amazing and legendary races of Secretariat at the last leg of the triple crown, June 9th 1973. This is one amazing horse. I created this video to share with the fans. Enjoy and cry for joy in such a miracle run. :) I want to dedicate this video that I created to 2 wonderful horses that passed away in 2006-2007: Lost in the Fog & Barbaro May they live and run within our hearts forever. I have been following and photographing the undefeated champion mare as she prepares for a bid to tie Citation and Cigar's unbeaten 16 win streak. I am an artist and aspiring fiction and turf writer. I use my pictures as inspiration for drawings, paintings, and stories. I have been making art and writing stories since I was old enough to hold a pencil, and have been following horse racing for nearly as long. I grew up in the Louisville, KY area and the Kentucky Derby was a major event. I love all types of horses and horse sports, but Thoroughbred racing is my favorite. Zenyatta is my favorite horse still racing; other favorites are Ruffian, Forego, and Kelso. These are a few of the horses that ran during my years as a horse breeder and owner of many good horses. My first horse was Suzi Juris who even though she had sore legs, she was an incredible race horse winner her first race by 10 lengths. Recording was my first stakes winners and that was a very exciting race. Jack Haynes was my trainer for several years and when we went out shopping, if he liked a horse you could bet all your money that it was going to be a winner. Sadly, Jack passed away last year. RIP Jack
