On Saturday, October 11, 2009, after the Sacred Craft Surfboard Expo, surfboard shaper Tom Wegener gave an evening presentation at Patagonia's Cardiff Surf Shop. Tom spoke about shaping surfboards from Paulownia wood, specifically classic single fin longboards, hollow surfboards and the traditional Hawaiian alaia design which Tom and his friends help reintroduce to the surfing world. 1/4 Dec 8, 2009 Jaws Maui - Peahi Maui Big Wave Tow-In Surfing. Sorry for the bad perch. Hard to catch simultaneous rides on back to back waves, Waves were rolling in more westerly than yesterday, bigger than yesterday morning, bit more wind chop. Taken about 7:30am. estimating this set was 50'+ (correct me in comments...)
