Krav Maga was born in the middle of the 40s by Imi Lichtenfeld (ZL) in Israel. The conception of Krav Maga reveals a path that enables anyone to exert their right to life, even with the violence that surrounds us. It is the only fighting technique with a worldwide recognition as an art of self defense and not as a martial art. There are no rules or competitions, because the techniques envision self-defense in real-life situations. With simple, fast and objective responses to violent daily life situations, it shows the common citizen how to defend himself, regardless of his physical conditioning, age or sex. With a military origin, its application in security forces has been incorporated by corporations all over the world because of its efficiency in combat.

MMA is a sport, Krav Maga is a survival system. All sports have rules, and for good reason. On the street where anything goes, there are no rules, no ref to protect you, and you need to be prepared for anything. Here you can see how much of an effect the rules have on the sport. If you watch the early UFCs when there were less rules, the fights looked very different. Krav Maga is not better than MMA. MMA is better for the ring. Krav Maga is better for the street. Both have a different purpose so you can not judge them both by the same standards. We posted this video to facilitate a discussion, so it's nice to hear all the different views, keep it coming. Two points so that were all on the same page: 1. There is of course a whole lot more to Krav Maga than kicks to the groin.
