Sunday May 14th 1989... SUPER DON with "Walter Case" trots to a wire to wire track record age 13 at "Lewiston Raceway". This was his 3rd start back after suffering a rear suspensory ligament injury in "New York" it was said he would never return... The following weekend marked the final day of the spring meet and witnessed the record being lowered by INDIANAPOLIS 2:01.1. That mark stands to this day as the venerable old track in Maine; closed it's doors for the final time later in the year after the fall meet; making SUPER DON the fastest aged trotting gelding in Lewiston Raceway's history and the second fastest trotter.
