Grandmaster Chan Tai-San teaching Sifu Michael Parrella (ME)a Bok Mei set - Sahp Jih Kuyhn. This was my first Bok Mei set and I laugh as I watch myself stuble through it and make a million mistakes. This was in 1991. Chan Tai-San served with Master Cheung Lai-Chung in the army and learned this set from one of Master Cheung's disciples who was a close friend of his. This is almost the first half of the set. Other sets that GM Chan taught are - Jik Bo (Straight Step), Gau Bouh Teui (9 Step Push), Sahp Baat Mor Kiu (18 Touching Bridges) along with Bok Mei Staff and Tiger Fork.

Pai Mei (Chinese: 白眉; pinyin: Bái Méi; literally White Eyebrow) was performed by veteran Chinese actor Gordon Liu. As depicted in the film, Pai Mei was a powerful, very old, practitioner of the Bak Mei style of kung fu. Pai Mei was the former teacher and master of The Bride, Bill, and Elle, although it is unclear if he instructed the other members of the DVAS. Despite being a wise and knowledgeable White Lotus priest, he also was bigoted (specifically towards Caucasians), xenophobic (towards the Japanese and Americans), and a misogynist. He only agreed to take on The Bride as a student after having a very violent (offscreen) martials arts duel with Bill, who then adds that Pai Mei was a very, very old man whose advancing years had taught him the value of company, while not brightening up his angry disposition. In spite of being both a Caucasian American and a woman, Beatrix ultimately wins his approval for her perseverance under his torturous training regimen. Pai Mei was alleged to be able to perform the lethal Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique. Bill describes the technique as "Quite simply, the deadliest blow in all of martial arts. He hits you with his finger tips at five different pressure points on your body and then lets you walk away. But once you've taken five steps, your heart explodes inside your body and you fall to the floor... dead."[9]

This is the introduction to one of my favourite strikes from Yau Kung Mun, Omei Bak Mei and Bak Fu Pai. "Soy Kuil" or Shattering the Bridge is a name that represents the force applied with this strike. The purpose of this strike is to smash through and take out the limbs in a destructive and Aggressive manner. I will be showing later in clips, how to train and develop this powerful strike as well breaking it down with an opponent for self defence. Each clip you can learn in progression to develop this hand, this is one of my favourite techniques and its very effective in sport fighting or for the street!

Practice of Boxing from Shi Pan Village. Along the North Coast of Guangdong Province just south of Chaozhou and Shantou lies Pu Ning County/city....in which lies Shi Pan Village. Here in addition to the rare Tiger Lion Dancing, they practice an old traditional chinese boxing. This art is thought by some to be the same as practiced by Huang Linjiao (Master from Hai Feng which lies further south from Shi Pan village on the way to Hui Zhou) who was the teacher of Lin Qingyuan (father of Dragon Style Founder Lin Yaogui (Lum Yiuguai) and Lin He (Teacher of Zhong Li Quan (Cheung Lai Chun), founder of Bai Mei). The techniques are raw but show similarities to core Dong JIang (White Eyebrow and Dragon) methods.
