Pilgrim Relief Society provides water systems and mosquito nets for villages in Vanuatu. 90000 children every year are affected by Malaria in Vanuatu.

The Island of Tanna was alerted with the Red light on the 12th of Wednesday January 2011. By then the Cyclone was located at Erromango, and was slowly moving on the South Westly direction. Reporting devastating damages on environment ,especially food crops and farming and traditional building with minor damages on the vulnerable concrete building especially iron roof blown off. Heavy rains with some flooding especially on the island of Erromango and Tanna causing damage to accessibility for transports from East to West Tanna, road are blocked by debris from flooding and falling trees and branches.

Posted at 03:50 on 26 November, 2009 UTC VOLCANIC ERUPTION IN VANUATU FORCES EVACUATION OF 300 PEOPLE More than 300 people are being evacuated from an island in the north of Vanuatu as gas and ash from volcanic eruptions are drifting on to three villages. The government has sent the paramilitary mobile forces and the Vanuatu Red Cross Society to monitor the evacuation from the west of the island of Gaua in Torba province. The volcano has been erupting since September but several recent minor eruptions have increased the volume of gas and ash which has been carried by a strong wind. The director of the National Disaster Management Office, Job Esau, says people in the area have been suffering from respiratory problems, diarrhoea and skin irritation. He says the water supply has also been affected and people want to leave They are happy and they have been affected so much, especially on the western part of the island, they are now prepared and concerned that they want to move out, and allow the activity to continue. They want to go to a safe area. Job Esau says people are being relocated by boat to the eastern side of Gaua over the next few days. In this village the village Chief talks about how their ancestors would kill, through strangulation, and eat people that commit crimes against them. This often happened during times when tribes were fighting or having wars. The natives quit head hunting when religion and western culture invaded the islands. Two of the chiefs showed us their village church. Here in a village of 10 or 20 people, they built a special hut for a church. They no longer eat people. Their society is just as civilized as your own, and may even be more civilized than what you consider acceptable. These are a very happy and relaxed people. Pilgrim relief society has commenced the construction of a medical clinic in the Omatako valley, Namibia. Currently the closest hospital in the region is located over 100 miles away. The facility will provide critical medical supplies and services to the community. Pilgrim co-ordinators anticipate the clinic will be completed by April 2011. Contributions are welcome. The Pilgrim Society Development Project was launched in August 2009.
