ELECTRO POEM "Light" - Agent Smith music video
Duration : 363 Seconds

Study of light and water and spirit, and much more than that. BBC Radio Kent challenged listeners to 'mashup' a few of their own songs and send them in for 'BBC Introducing'... this was the result of my efforts, last year ("Light", "Devachanic", "Summer", "Silence") over which I've added extra vocals and bits of spoken word. Featuring Lake Zurich, especially from a vantage point at Kusnacht pier where I sat with a crisp Swiss beer and watched the light change. Lake Zurich is a 20 mile stretch of water from the busy Zurich end to the tranquil green leafy end that hides Carl Jung's 'Bollingen Tower' - built between 1920s and 1930s...There's a an embedded image from Jung's 'Red Book' in the video. Also showing the Zurich town waterfront, Kusnacht and Waderswil, (All in Switzerland), Portmadog and Creusor (Wales) from the top of Cnicht - 'the perfect mountain'... Sydney (Australia) during the recent red dust storm, Liverpool (UK) river Mersey waterfront and skyline, English countryside from a train, sunset in Highwoods country Park Colchester (UK) and sunset in an Afghanistan village, the port of Rotterdam, high up in the Iranian mountains, the Beesten Maarkt in Delft (Holland) where painter Vermeer and his father lived, and main square in Delft and town hall (featured in the film "The girl with the pearl earing'), some beautiful if terrifying anthropomorphic bronze sculptures on Schraveningen seafront (Holland), Beethoven Street Studio London. Footage of the notorious ...

Judith Balso + Philippe Beck. The Concepts of Poetry and Reading 2009 1/9
Duration : 492 Seconds

www.egs.edu Critic and essayist Judith Balso introducing the poet Philippe Beck, one of Frances most well known, young poets to the students and faculty of the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. In her introduction of Beck, Balso discussed Hegels concept of poetry that it must, and does, lead us to another sphere, a sphere of sensitive forms and images, which in turn have analogy with the proper object. She furthered the discussion by mentioning Wallace Stevens who said that poetry was analogy. Both Balso and Beck emphasized the importance of a public reading of poetry; to read a poem, according to Beck, is to continue searching (recherce); he writes imagining the interlocutor to come. Poetry, for Beck, is a trajectory, and works both as a geography and a history of thought. Public open lecture for the students and faculty of the European Graduate School EGS Media and Communication Studies department program Saas-Fee, Switzerland 2009. Becks published work incorporates nearly fifteen books, from Garde-mache hypocrite (1996) to Chants populaire (2007). As, well as producing poems at a constant rate, he is currently at work on a series of essays on poetry called Contre Boileau. Philippe Beck is considered the French authority on the English poet Coleridge, whose work he has translated extensively. He has also translated Walter Benjamin from the original German. Beck studied literature and philosophy at University of Nantes and used Jacques Derrida as his ...
