Guggenmusig for Fasnet in Laufenburg, a beautiful town spanning both sides of the Rhine, one part in Germany and another in Switzerland. Festivals like this have been popular in the Alemannic-speaking areas since the 16th century. The original purpose was to scare away the spirits of winter by playing brass instruments and horns through the streets as loudly as possible and wearing scary or interesting costumes. This year I think they had over 30-something bands gather in the town. (Btw, the blue-haired conductor of the last band from this video was simply awesome lol).

It's a great way to get a taste of the culture, meet the people, eat the food and get a rich experience of the destination. This is the Alpabfahrt Festival in Schüpfheim (Entlebuch).... Summer camp is over for the Swiss cows as they come home from the Alps ready for their milk to be made into delicious Summer cheese, with a slightly more herbal flavor thanks to the fresh grasses and clover in the Alps. But the cows don't just stroll down the mountain and back home... there is serious fanfare! The town of Schüpfheim (Entlebuch) puts on a festival called Alpabfahrt, closing the streets and of course selling local sausages and beer to help add to the festivities. It's quite the Swiss tradition!

Incredible Geneva Festival 2010 Fireworks show on Lake Geneva, Aug.7. Filmed in front of the memorial statue of non other than Michael Jackson, King of Pop. Note the appearance of the famous fountain of Lake Geneva. The drama of the fireworks display befits Michael Jackson's dramatic stage performances. Feels like I am watching his concert. You have to see till the end and you will understand why. Lucky to catch the moment of light. Michael still lives indeed.

This has got to be some of the coolest dancers I have ever seen live. I'll try to get uploaded some more videos of them. Their URL is included in the titles of this video so you can contact them and pay their airplane/bus ticket so they can come and dance at your town festivals or parties! I think these have got to be the next generation Lord of the Dance.
