With over 80% of the population taking part in the murders of the Tutsi tribe, justice and reconciliation is difficult. As they visit the sites and hear of the atrocities, the missionaries are filled with zeal to preach the message of hope. On Christmas day in a remote village they speak of life and the new life Rwanda will find in Christ. Hundreds respond and the miracle of salvation is the anointing that heals the broken hearts. Charity Cycle Trek Across Africa for Olympic Legacy with Rwanda Two cyclists will travel 6000 miles by bike from the UK to Rwanda in 70 days to raise thousands of pounds for a fundraising appeal to leave a lasting legacy from London 2012 for youngsters in the country. The West Suffolk Athletics Arena at Abbeycroft Leisure's Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre has been chosen to host the Rwandan Olympic and Paralympic teams as they prepare for London 2012. Friends Peter White, 31, from Bury St Edmunds, and Peter Goodwin, 28, from Colchester, will start the 'Cycle to Rwanda' trek in May 2012, starting from Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre and aiming to arrive in Kigali, Rwanda, in time to see the Rwandan Olympic team off for their journey to Bury. The trek will take them through Holland, Belgium, France, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and through Rwanda. They will be facing some of their toughest days in the deserts of the Sudan and the mountains of Ethiopia. Ultraman athlete and Bury St Edmunds policeman Simon Bourne will be training and advising the cyclists. Details on Sport For Rwanda be found at www.sportforrwanda.org
