This is the voicemail from a special dept within hotels.com / Expedia that handles mishaps and oversight errors with their partner companies (basically when they cannot honer a booking). This voicemail is several hours after we found out we had NO ROOM on our holiday vacation. She is saying they can confirm another room in a hotel 83 miles away, across the border and in Costa Rica. Keep in mind she is aware we are on holidays, in a rental car, and this has gone on for several hours, and extremely expensive by cell phone. It is approx midnight when this message came in.... They offered us a refund and hey...a whopping $100 credit toward another safe and professional transaction with them in the future! Stranded in Nicaragua w/ no room or options...You can hear in their voice they seem to be doing us a favor. #FAILURE Do not use Hotels.com and or Expedia unless being stranded homeless somewhere is ok with you!!

McDonalds is across the street from the intercontinental in Managua, Nicaragua. We walked over for some coffee and were suprised by how good the service was! The woman sweeping the floor opened the door, later she cleared our dirty tray and items from our table. Very clean McDonalds. The Hilton Princess is just about 300 feet or 100 meters up the road.
