Adolph Hitler Meets with Grand Mufti Amin Al Husseini. Grand Mufti Amin Al Husseini of Jerusalem organises recruitment to Bosnia's and Kosovo's Muslim Nazi SS divisions. Another prominent Kosovar Albanian Muslim, Bedri Pejani, was appointed to committee the Nazi occupation authorities established to rule the Nazi-created Greater Albania. Pejani announced a plan to create a Greater Islamic State consisting of Albania, Bosnia-Hercegovina, and the Sandzak/Rashka region of Serbia. The plan was presented to the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin el Husseini, who approved of the Pejani plan because it was seen as being in the interests of Islam. On April 17,1944, pursuant to instructions by Reichsfuehrer-SS Heinrich Himmler, an Albanian Waffen SS Division, the 21st Waffen Gebirgs Division der SS "Skanderbeg" or "Skenderbeg" (Albanische Nr.1), was formed, which occupied and ethnically cleansed Kosovo-Metohija of Orthodox Serbs, Jews, Gypsies, and other non-Albanians. Himmler envisioned the formation of two Albanian SS Divisions, but the war ended before the second could be formed. Approximately 300 Albanian troops in the Bosnian Muslim 13th Waffen Gebirgs Division der SS "Handzar" or "Handschar" were transferred to the newly forming SS division. The Skanderbeg Division was made up of 6491 ethnic Albanian Muslims, two-thirds of whom were from Kosovo-Metohija, "Kosovars". The Siege of Sarajevo is the longest siege of a capital city in the history of modern warfare.[3][4] Serb forces of the self-proclaimed Republika Srpska and the Yugoslav People's Army (later to become the Army of Serbia and Montenegro) besieged Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from April 5, 1992 to February 29, 1996 during the Bosnian War. It is estimated that nearly 10000 persons were killed or went missing in the city, including over 1500 children. An additional 56000 persons were wounded, including nearly 15000 children.[7][8][9] By 1995, killings and forced migration had reduced the citys population to 334663 - 64% of its prewar size.

On Friday September 9, 2011, the US Embassy in Podgorica commemorated the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States of September 11, 2001. Montenegrin officials and representatives of the Diplomatic Corps in Montenegro attended the commemoration. US Ambassador to Montenegro Sue K. Brown gave brief remarks and opened an area on the Embassy compound which is dedicated to the victims of 9/11 and other victims of terrorism and violent extremism across the world.

Terrorist cells proliferating in Balkans - as 'white' Al Qaeda being recruited to carry out attacks The raid netted explosives, rifles, other arms and a videotape pledging vengeance for the "brothers" killed fighting Americans in Afghanistan and Iraq. Police found the cache in an apartment occupied by an underground group that was aiming to blow up the British Embassy in Sarajevo, Western intelligence officials said. The Oct. 19 bust in Sarajevo confirmed a suspicion among several intelligence agents that Bosnia and other parts of the Balkans are becoming a launching pad for terrorist attacks in Europe. In particular, Islamic radicals are looking to create cells of so-called white al Qaeda, non-Arab members who can evade racial profiling used by police forces to watch for potential terrorists. "They want to look European to carry out operations in Europe," said a Western intelligence agent in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia and Montenegro, adjacent to Bosnia. "It's yet another evolution in the tools used by terrorists."

SPECIJALNA ANTITERORISTICKA JEDINICA (SAJ) Special Antiterrorist Unit The Specijalna Antiteroristicka Jedinica (SAJ), Serbia's prime counter-terrorist unit, was created in 1995 with Radovan Stojicic Badza as its first commander. The unit is under the control of the Ministry of Interior (MUP), specifically by Gen. Obrad Stejanovic, the head of all special units of the MUP. After Stojicic, the unit's commander was a Zoran Simovic Tutinac, and the latest commander is said to be Zivko Trajkovic. Initially headquartered at the Belgrade airport, they were relocated to Batajnica, while maintaining a training center at Paklenink, complete with a model town to practice close quarters battle (CQB) and other skills. Originally, the SAJ numbered around 200 men, but during the recent year, that number is reported to have grown to around 500. The SAJ concerns itself with "extraordinary situations," such as combating terrorism, insurgency, organized crime, hostage situations and high risk warrant executions, as well as VIP protection. A secret unit is said to exist within the SAJ, which provides protection for the Serbian president, as well as important figures and businessmen. Like counter-terrorist units around the world, the SAJ is better equipped and funded than ordinary police and military units. In a world exclusive, Thaksin gave ABC TV's Lateline his first interview since the Red Shirt protest in Bangkok was crushed. Thaksin is now reported to be based in Montenegro and says Interpol will not act on a politically motivated warrant for his arrest on terrorism charges. Thaksin had been silent ever since issuing a statement hinting at guerrilla warfare during the early days of the Red Shirts protest in Bangkok. He told Lateline's Tony Jones the focus should not be on whether he would return to Thailand to face terrorism charges, but on reconciliation in his home country. "If the confrontation is still going, it's not good for the country. We want to see reconciliation because the government always talked about reconciliation," he said. "But they use iron fist approach. They are not using velvet glove approach. That means that they [want] confrontation more than reconciliation."
