Religion in Albania and the lack thereof! The majority of Albanians today are either atheists or agnostics. According to an official US Government Report : No reliable data were available on active participation in formal religious services, but estimates ranged from 25 to 40 percent.", leaving 60 to 75 percent of the population non-religious!! Religious indifference and pragmatism continued as a distinctive trait of the society and interreligious marriage has been very common throughout the centuries, in some places even the rule. A Rilindja Kombëtare (National Renaissance) intellectual and poet, Pashko Vasa (1825-1892), made the trenchant remark, that "Churches and mosques you shall not heed / The religion of Albanians is Albanism" (Gheg Albanian: "Mos shikoni kisha e xhamia / Feja e shqyptarit âsht shqyptaria"). I don't understand what's the deal with using 2 centuries old Ottoman data to speak about religion in Albania? Someone is likely misinterpreting antiquated data,just because someone needs to declare religious affiliations where there aren't any! Yugoslavia / A former country of southeast Europe bordering on the Adriatic Sea. The broad walk and road running along Mala Plaza, Ulcinj is a great place for people watching. Most of the people coming from vacation are from Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Muslims and Christians from Serbia. Der Mufti von Sandzak (Gebiet das zur hälfe in Serbien, zur hälfte in Montenegro liegt) Muamer ef. Zukorlic ist der Stolz der Muslime auf den Balkan. Einer der Löwen dieser Ummah. Er ist aber auch der serbischen Regierung ein Dorn im Auge, weil er die Wahrheit spricht, weil er dagegen kämpft das sein Volk, die Sandzaklija weiter von der serbischen Regierung diskriminiert wird. Weil sie ihn nicht kaufen können, wie sie manch anderen gekauft haben der sein Volk verraten hat und weil er niemanden fürchtet außer Allah.
