The President of the Maldives extends his warm greetings to the Leader of South Asia who routed the worst deadliest terrorism. Maldivian Leader Mohammed Nasheed said terrorism in Sri Lanka was an issue to security of the Maldives and a common issue to the South Asian region. Mr. Nasheed who arrived in the island yesterday on two-day official visit met President Rajapaksa at the Presidents House in Anuradhapura. Mr. Nasheed said the Presidents success in crushing terrorism has set an example to the entire world. In response, President Rajapaksa said the major task vested in him was to rebuild the war ravaged areas and bring normality to the lives of the civilians. The prevailing secure environment in the island will help tourism to flourish. This, the Maldivian Leader said was an impetus to the economy of his country. Minister Rohitha Bogollagama and Presidents Secretary Lalith Weeratunga were present at this meeting.

President of the Maldives Mohamed Nasheed has assured his Governments full support to the Sri Lankan President in his efforts to rid the country of terrorism. He expressed this support during bilateral talks yesterday....The two Presidents had discussions at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday. It was emphasised that they expected to further promote cooperation between Sri Lanka and the Maldives in various fields. The Maldivian President expressed gratitude to his Sri Lankan counterpart for the support given to the Maldives to consolidate diplomatic ties and for good governance. Giving views on the Kilinochchi victory, Mohamed Nasheed applauded the Sri Lankan Presidents efforts to wipe out terrorism from the island. The visiting Maldivian President said he further desired Sri Lankas support on various fields.

US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert Blake, who attended the SAARC Summit in Maldives, spoke exclusively to TIMES NOW and said that terror is a concer for the America. He said, "Hillary Clinton visited Pakistan and had a detailed conversation with her counterpart. The US and Britain regimes have militarized the oil industry, making it extremely difficult for Argentina to reclaim a former state-owned oil company, says a noteworthy author. On Monday, Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner announced the decision to reclaim YPF, which was formerly a state-owned Argentine oil company, at a meeting with her cabinet and provincial governors. She said that Argentina had to take back the oil company since it is the only nation in Latin America "that does not manage its natural resources." India Prime Minister Manmohan Singh told the Summit that terrorism continues to raise its ugly head in the region. It remains the single biggest threat to their stability. They cannot afford to lose the battle against the ideologies of hatred, fanaticism and against all those who seek to destroy their social fabric. Dr. Singh said terrorists and extremists know no borders. He referred to the need for joint action with determination to fight against this scourge. He pointed out that construction work on the South Asian University in India will be completed by 2010. Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in his address said terrorism cannot be defeated by being isolated. Regional unity is necessary. It was destroying social values in Pakistan. Terrorists are engaged in an effort to make a serious challenge to the country's socio economic development. Pakistan was a country severely impacted by terrorism in comparison to other states in the region. The Pakistani Prime Minister said every country should be aware of the responsibility to eliminate terrorism. He recalled the contributions that can be secured through the SAARC Summit to promote regional agriculture and trade.
