Pakistan Attended WIEF, 2010 in Malaysia The Minister for Privatization, Senator Waqar Ahmad represented the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani in the 6th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) being held in Kuala Lumpur on 19-20 May, 2010. Pakistan also set up a big pavilion in the 6th WIEF Exhibition to showcase its quality products including mangoes, handcrafts, Women garments, traditional jewellery and other such products. Besides the forum, Pakistan also represented in the Businesswomen's Forum and the Young Leader's Forum. These forae preceded the 6th WIEF. WIEF brought ing together some 2000 participants comprising world leaders and members of the global business community to discuss ideas and strategies on global issues affecting trade and business and to network with each other on cross border business opportunities. WIEF Forum has been instrumental in providing a platform for thought-provoking dialogue to provide synergistic solutions to key economic issues of interest to the Muslim World and to bridge the economic gap between the Muslim and non-Muslim World by tackling the current state of the global economy, from a Muslim world perspective.
