One thing that binds the people together is that they are simply African. Even though there are many Africans that are dying of starvation, this one isn't doing too bad. Yes they are dirt poor for the most part, but the average Tanzanian doesn't go hungry. 80% of the population is rural so I can only assume that they live right off of the land. This country is also famous for having the tallest mountain in Africa: Mt Kilimanjaro.

nice tune; released in 2008 as a part of the "the very best mixtape" Esau Mwamwaya is a singer from Lilongwe, Malawi. He is best known for his collaboration, The Very Best with London based DJ/production duo Radioclit. His music has been described as an Afro-Western mix of dance, hiphop, pop and the traditional music of Malawi. Esau Mwamwaya was born in Mzuzu, Malawi but grew up in the capital, Lilongwe where he played drums in various bands. He played with numerous artists including Masaka Band and Evison Matafale. In 1999 he moved to London and while running a second-hand furniture shop in Clapton, East London, Esau sold a bicycle to the producer from the band Radioclit, Etienne Tron. Radioclit's studio was on the same street as Esau's shop, and eventually, Esau became friends with both Tron and Johan Karlberg aka Radioclit. In 2008, the three men worked together to create a project known as 'The Very Best', releasing a critically lauded free mixtape through the label GREEN OWL([1]) in collaboration with other indie artists, including MIA, Vampire Weekend, Architecture in Helsinki, BLK JKS, Santigold and the Ruby Suns. The songs are sung in Chichewa, the national language of Malawi. On the heels of the mixtape, The Very Best produced their first full-length album, Warm Heart of Africa, released digitally in August 2009 and released physically in October 2009 by GREEN OWL and Moshi Moshi. Regarding the journey to Asia in 2008: In 2008, European Year of Cross-cultural Dialogue, developing the large mass media effort in organizing the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing, a 10-member GP team carried out the road trip initiative Green Project in Asia: Athens to Beijing, from the silk roads to the energy roads. (www.greenproject2008.com). The team started out in Greece, passed through Turkey, George, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and wound up in China. Utilizing low CO2 emission vehicles, and mass transportation, 13000 kilometers were covered in a period of five weeks, in a quest for modern routes of commercial energy (electricity and natural gas), not unlike those who followed the historical Silk Road. GP presentations in the capital cities of countries visited were accompanied by digital displays of artistic works of her contributors. Eighteen important installations of renewal energy sources were recorded along with 16 characteristic samples of traditional architecture, 7 of which are included in the list of UNESCOs World Heritage Sites. The trailblazing recordings consisted of 30000 photographs and 40-hours of documentary videos. A new exhibition, A Struggle for Freedom: Our African Heritage, commemorates the slave prisoners whose hardships on the island stretched over two centuries -- from the days of Eva, Catharina and Maria in the mid-1650s to the mid-1830s. Their origins are often indicated in the name whereas others were named after the month they arrived or the master they served. The majority of Cape slaves (41 150 in total) came from Africa and Madagascar -- initially from Angola and the Guinea coast, later from East and Central Africa (Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia and Congo). In addition, there were 17 315 slaves from India and 13 545 from the Indonesian islands. The exhibition features photos of Robben Island and other Unesco World Heritage sites in Africa and Brazil that are historically entwined with slavery. The triangular slave trade between Europe, Africa and the Americas has created striking similarities across the continents. For instance, the colourful architecture of the Brazilian city Salvador de Bahia bears an uncanny resemblance to the Bo Kaap, Cape Town's Malay quarter.
