Kočo Racin - Macedonian poet and revolutionary
Duration : 78 Seconds

08.06.2007 Kočo Solev Racin, born in Veles (1908-1943), was a highly distinguished Macedonian poet, prose writer, critic, historical thinker, active national figure and the most eminent Macedonian intellectual of the period between the two World Wars. In his youth, Ratcin wrote Antologia na bolkata (Anthology of the pain) and in 1931 he published an essay on a famous German philosopher, Hegel, in the magazine "Literatura" in Croatia and was named the 'miracle' of Veles. He was only 23 years old at the time. His poetry appeared between the two world wars, while the norms of the Macedonian literary language were being established. His book 'Beli Mugri' (White Dawns), published in Samobor in 1939, immediately attracted the interest of the public and was considered a culmination of the poet's cry for justice as it emerged from the pain and sufferings of the Macedonian people. His poetry is considered a significant contribution towards the struggle of the Macedonian's for their national and cultural development. In May 1943, Ratcin joins to the workers party in the same time when he published his first anthology of the folk songs dedicated to ...

While her "trained soldiers" in the Diaspora attempt to present the Macedonians from the Republic of Macedonia as a "fictitious entity" created by some communist monster bent on stealing Greek territory, those in Greece itself, are busy spying on their countryman calling them "agents of Skopia" and "worms that eat up our national tissue which need to be crushed". The extent of this rampant absurdity rivals only their ingrained xenophobic prejudices and their, almost, narcissistic preoccupation with self. It seems that the veil of ignorance has blinded their illusory ambitions to wipe out any remnants of the Macedonian´s past. Without a reliable and truthful historical compass, their political ship is adrift into a predictable abyss a fascist dictatorship. Few, if any, doubt that the present-day government in Greece can maintain its treacherous course for too long; here, the democratic principles on which modern countries have built their societies have suffered irreparable damage. The ...

There is no need for a mutually agreed upon name because Macedonians are happy with the existing name, just the way it is. Would any Macedonian contemplate changing the name if there was no pressure from Greece ? Certainly not! So where is the need to change the name? Again this is another Greek ploy to keep Macedonians distracted from pursuing more important matters like the status of the Macedonians in Greece and, in the long term, to wear down and break the Macedonian people. Dear Macedonians its time for us to recognize where these Greeks are coming from and where they are going with this so-called name dispute and stand up to them and say no more leading us by our noses! No more making up issues about nothing! No more lies and deceit! Let us once and for all recognize that without the Macedonian participation in these so-called name negotiations Greece has nothing to negotiate and no leg to stand on ...
