www.luanbexheti.com Luan Bexheti was born in Tetova, Macedonia in 1972 to Albanian parents. In 1976 at the age of 4 he moved to Oslo, Norway where his father worked as a teacher. After finishing school in 1995 Luan decided to move to America to study at the famous Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York and to pursue a career in acting and producing films. So far he has worked in 41 independent films, 12 commercials and 29 plays. He has also worked with Michael Moore on a show called Michael Moore Live. He had the main role in "Maree", a film that was shot in Venice, Italy and has been screened at 96 different film festivals around the world so far. Luan collected a "special mention" award for his acting at the Berlin Film Festival (Berlinale 2004). He is also a producer; his latest project is "Cadillac Man;Life under the viaduct" which is directed by Michael Regan. "Cadillac" is a documentary film about a homeless veteran who has a book deal with a major American publishing house. Luan Bexheti spends his time in USA,Norway and Macedonia where he was born.

16.03.09 Dimitrija Čupovski (18781940) was born in the village of Papradište in the outskirts of Veles in the Ottoman Empire, (now Republic of Macedonia). Before Čupovski was born, his father had been killed by Albanian mercenaries. When he was 10 years old his village was burned, and he and his family then settled in Kruševo, the birth place of his mother. After learning the painting trade, he and his brothers left for Sofia in search of work. In the capital of the newly established Kingdom of Bulgaria Čupovski worked during the day and visited the school organized by Dame Gruev, Petar Pop Arsov and other students. After that he continued his education in Belgrade and Saint Petersburg He was one of the founders of the Macedonian Literary Society, established in Saint Petersburg in 1902, and served as its president from 1902 to 1917. He was also the author of a large number of articles and official documents, publisher of the printed bulletin of the Macedonian Colony, and organiser of several Macedonian associations. He wrote verse both in Russian and Macedonian. He also produced the first Macedonian-Russian dictionary, worked on a Macedonian grammar and an encyclopaedic monograph on Macedonia and the Macedonians. He also drew up an ethnic and geographical map of Macedonia. In the period 1913-1918, Čupovski published the newspaper "Македонскi Голосъ" (Macedonian Voice) in which he and fellow members of the Petersburg Macedonian Colony promoted the existence of a separate ...

The Spirit of my Father (Duhot na Tatko Mi) is a documentary about the personal victimization of an actor during the Communist era. Risto Shishkov (1940-1986) was accused of enemy activity underlined by Macedonian nationalism in Yugoslavia. The story is narrated and told from the perspective of his son, Vasil. Shishkov was the only actor to be banned and arrested on anti-government charges in Communist Macedonia. Shishkov's spirit remains to this day in the struggles of subsequent generations of actors.
