Kaliopi is the biggest pop star in FYR Macedonia, an exceptionally famous singer, composer, poet and is also renowned for her humanitarian work. Now she will grace the stage of Europe's Favourite TV Show performing Crno I Belo. Kaliopi started her career when she was only 9 years old, winning the first place at a childrens song festival. She gained success and recognition with the band Kaliopi, originally in the former Yugoslav nations. The band became established and guided by Romeo Grill who was also the author of most of the songs. In a short period of time, they published two albums, and participated in some of the biggest festivals and shows in their homeland. Kaliopi moved to Switzerland for a period but announced her comeback as a solo performer by winning the first place at the Skopje festival in 1996. In 1999 she moved back to FYR Macedonia, with her new album Oboi Me which had been recorded in Switzerland. This album was her last cooperation with Romeo Grill as producer. Kaliopi has recorded nine albums in total, six of them with herself as writer. Each of them won Album Of The Year recognition. She has become one of the leading music artists in the region. Tale Ognenovski was born in the village of Brusnik near Bitola in the Republic of Macedonia on April 27, 1922. Tale Ognenovski is the greatest clarinetist, reed piper, zourlist and small bagpiper of all time, demonstrating unique skill, a wealth of invention, amazing improvisational virtuosity and outstanding musical competence in all areas of music. He is one of the greatest composers in the world of music. Tale Ognenovski is known across the globe for his virtuosic performances. Tale Ognenovskii as a virtuoso clarinet and reed pipe soloist with Macedonian Ensemble 'Tanec' appeared on January 27, 1956 at Carnegie Hall, New York City in display of tremendous skill. Ensemble Tanecs sixty-six performances in North America attracted much attention in the North American press. He has composed and arranged 150 Macedonian folk dances, one classical concert Tale Ognenovski Concert for Clarinet No. 1, and 12 jazz compositions. 07.07.2010 "The Balkan Festival of folk songs and dances" is an international folklore event established in 1962. Its original title was "The Ohrid Festival of Amateur Folk Songs and Folk Bands". The ceremonial opening took place 20th July 1962 in the town's square. In 1967 the Festival was restructured and ever since it has been hosting vocal and instrumental bands and solo singers presenting their authentic folk creations and traditional culture through horas, songs, rites, traditional clothes, local costumes, traditional musical instruments, and handicrafts. For more than twenty years "The Balkan Festival of Folk Songs and Dances" has been a member of the UNESCO Associations of CIOFF (The International Council of the Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folklore Art), and IOFA (The International Organization for Folklore Art. Traditionally, the Festival takes place in the beginning of July. Countries from the Balkans and neighbouring countries take part in the Festival. When the new school was built, I had the honor to sing the new school hymn. Singing is my greatest love. I go to the music school Ilija Nikolovski Luj, and I take private singing lessons with Prof. Vlado Srbinovski as well. I have performed at several festivals in Macedonia, as well as abroad. 2006 I parformed at the international festival Звездички (Stars), and I won 3rd place for interpreting the song Сама низ Сахара (Through Sahara on my own). 2007 I participated in the National Junior Eurosong Qualifications, and I came in second with the song Мислиш на мене (You thing of me). Afterwards I was asked to join the team performing in Rotterdam Holland, as back-vocal and dancer. I have been to Ukraine on two festivals. In 2007, at the Music Umbrella Festival in Vinnytsia, and in 2008, at the Festival in Mariupol. 2008 was very successful . I took part in many festivals and humanitarian concerts. I was well noticed and accepted, and I met many children from Macedonia and other countries. 2009 in Nesebar, Bulgaria, I took part in the Sun, Joy, and Beauty festival. I am looking forward to visit Ukrain once again, but now I am coming with a huge responsibility to represent Macedonia at the Junior Eurosong Contest.
