This video shows the brutality and the non-democratic way of the Lithuanian Security and Police against the Macedonian Fans in the match between Macedonian - Lithuania in the Kaunas Arena. The Macedonian Fans were surrounded by security and police throughout the duration of the match, and even when the match ended they didn't allow the fans to cheer it's players like they want to. The whole problem was because the Macedonian Fans wanted to pick up and show the old Macedonian Flag, the Flag of Vergina. If this the democracy in Europe? Is this the right way to threat fans from other countries? When foreign fans come to Macedonia they hang out with our fans, they cheer it's teams together, no matter who wins or who losses. Shame on Europe and the Lithuanian Politics!

The legal affairs committee of the European Parliament next week will discuss the parliament's decision to revoke the immunity of Russian-born Lithuanian MEP Victor Uspaskich after it was revealed that a Soviet-style conspiracy against him by political opponents led the parliament to strip him of his legal immunity last year.

In January 1991, as the Soviet bloc was crumbling, Russian soldiers attempted to stop the Lithuanian fight for democracy. The soldiers attacked the main television studio and broadcast tower in the city of Vilnius, the Lithuanian capital. That event is now celebrated as a national holiday. One broadcaster, Egle Bucelyte, courageously defied the attacking Russian soldiers by risking her own life to stay on the air and report the day's events to the Lithuanian people. About the Event: Mr Ignatavicius outlined Lithuanias approach to European Security. In his presentation he discussed specific aspects of this approach such as relations with Russia and the role of the Organisation for Security Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) ahead of Lithuanias Presidency of the OSCE in 2011. In addition, Mr Ignatavicius offered a Lithuanian perspective on the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP). Finally, Mr Ignatavicius explored Lithuania's relations with Ireland ahead of Ireland's presidency of the EU in 2013 in a trio which includes Lithuania and Greece. About the Speaker: Vice-minister Ignatavicius is responsible for security policy, ENP, relations with the EU's Eastern Neighbours (including Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, South Caucasus) and Central Asia. An unlikely theme park is fast becoming one of Lithuania's top tourist attractions, nicknamed 'Stalin World' Grutas Park serves as a reminder for future generations of how not to let history repeat itself. A period in history that saw hundreds of thousands of people shipped to work camps in Siberia is now being documented in the most unusual way. The theme park creator Vilimaus says, "by creating this park here, we want to constantly remind people about these things that are often forgotten". Global Intervention Now To Save Tibetan Lives 2011 11 02 Vilnius Lietuva Brussels : The European Parliament on 27 October 2011 adopted a resolution on Tibet in which it expressed its deep concern on the recent self-immolations of eight Tibetan Buddhist monks and one nun in Ngaba, Tibet, and condemned the continued crackdown by Chinese authorities on Tibetan monasteries and sentencing of the Kirti monks without fair trial. In the resolution, the European Parliament urged the Chinese authorities to lift restrictions and heavy-handed security measures imposed on Kirti monastery and to be accountable for the status of the Tibetans who survived self-immolation and to provide complete details on the status of those detained after March 16, 2011, including the 300 monks forcibly taken from the monastery and proceed to their immediate release. It also urged the Chinese authorities to allow independent international media and human rights monitors to visit the area. The European Parliament called on the government of the People's Republic of China to respect rights of the Tibetans in all its provinces and to take proactive steps to resolve their underlying grievances.
