--Bloomberg reports, that the world's biggest banks are working with one another and police to gather intelligence as protesters try to rejuvenate the Occupy Wall Street movement with May demonstrations. Among 99 protest targets in midtown Manhattan on May 1st are JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America offices. Events are scheduled for more than 115 cities, including an effort to shut down the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, where Wells Fargo investors relied on police to get past protests at their annual meeting this week. "Our goal is to kick off the spring offensive and go directly to where the financial elite play and plan," said a May Day organizer. Banks are preparing for Occupy demonstrations at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's Chicago summit by sharing information from video surveillance, robots and building officers. Deutsche Bank is closing the public atrium of its US headquarters at 60 Wall St., which protesters have previously used for meetings. Starting in 2010, JPMorgan gave the New York City Police Foundation $4.6 million, the largest donation in the group's history. Goldman Sachs, News Corp. and Barclays were among 16 donors who gave at least $100000 throughout the year. We drove 7 hours from Ganta to Monrovia on a decent enough road for Liberia. We went past thick jungle, old rubber plantations, bush that had been cut for timber or farming. We went through small villages, market towns, rice paddies, small holdings planted with rubber or banana. Life is happening on the roadside, young boysand girls bathe, older boys fish, even older boys drive motorcycle taxis.Girls are selling and shopping, running businesses with their mothers The young are walking to school, the older are walking to shop or sell or maybe get to a doctor or a banker. People pop out of the bush all along the highway. We made our way into the teeming capital, the streets clogged with UN jeeps, government convoys, motorcycles, taxis and people, always people, selling, shopping, rolling wheelbarrows full of toothbrushes or flip flops. People moving through a city of crumbling huts, of the hulks of bombed out government buildings and stores, the wars lingering wounds. And there are signs of rebirth, new grocery stores and banks. The city smells of smoke and exhaust and a thousand other human scents. And always there are little kids waving and older boys and girls looking hard, until you smile and they smile and everyone waves.

The United Nations deputy envoy in Liberia Louis Aucoin has called for a close partnership between the people, security agencies and the justice system, for effective delivery of justice in Liberia. "The security agencies and the justice system must connect with the people; must keep them informed of programs, rights, options, services and opportunities to be heard," Mr. Aucoin stated in brief remarks at the launch of an outreach campaign to publicize a regional justice and security hub being constructed in Gbarnga through the UN Peace Building Fund, to make justice accessible to the people of Bong, Nimba and Lofa counties. The Gbarnga hub, a model for four others to be constructed in Liberia, will have facilities to strengthen justice and security through a service-centre and decentralized systems approach by delivering key administrative and operational support to justice and security providers. Mr. Aucoin, who is the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Rule of Law in Liberia, described the launch of the campaign as the laying of the "groundwork for a more capable and responsive criminal justice system, working in close partnership with the people, to ensure peace, security, and the rule of law." He urged the various elements of the criminal justice system that would be operating at the hub to work in collaboration, saying the effectiveness of the hub concept would be seen "when all the various components of the criminal justice system work ...
