Getting to a rarely visited mountain region isn't always so easy. Unable to reach the Djangart by truck, we were lucky to have some Kyrgyz nomads assist us. Every year, tens of thousands of migrant workers from Kyrgyzstan travel to the Central Asian economic powerhouse of Kazakhstan in search of employment. Thousands of these migrant workers, often together with their children, find work in tobacco farming, where many are subjected to abuse and exploitation by employers supplying tobacco to Philip Morris Kazakhstan, a subsidiary of Philip Morris International, one of the world's largest tobacco companies.

More later in blog/ memoirs. production notes: created a while ago on 2 12bit 32k dv tracks (1 for narration). saturday april 9,2010: finished re-editing Kyrgyzstan video but final cut "pro" ruined it by adding many popping noises to the 2nd stereo 32k narration audio track. Haven't moved all day & can't be bothered to log n capture more footage spending more hours.. tried recapturing 12bit 32k dv and it always adds popping noises even when capture settings correct 32k..what waste of time. Looking at computer screen too much, eyes & brain are burned out. Googled "final cut pro popping noise" & found out "soundtrack pro" app de-clicks in "analysis", searched it & it showed the window menu under tabs. It de-clicked most pops. I spent a couple hours doing it manually, threshold 100%, it wouldn't fix all popping noises. Audio compression. next time: -cut out intro background noise -headphone mix check -gate narration mic noise between speech

President Emomali Rachmonov has taken the power after the end of civil war in 1997 and extended presidential period from 4 up to 7 years. In the country is significant influence from communistic imperium. The movie was made in the street of town Khujand (Leninabad). You can see from far away huge statue of Lenin. Russian communist politician, revolutionary, first chairman of the SSSR government who was leading Bolshevistic revolution in Russia in 1917. Movie is going slowly into the Kyrgyzstan. Recognizable according to the snow cover. Frozen town Narin is in the centre fo Tian-Shan Range (Mountains of Heaven) where I met family with two children and spend with them trek into the old caravanserai close to the border with China. People get their names as a synonum of some charackers, qualities. Father's name was "Miracle" his wife's was called "Paradise", childrens "Beautiful" and "Courageous" (translated from Kyrgyz language into Russian).
