This is rare and unique movie. It shows inside and outside of the House of Parliament by the international Known architect of the Sidney Opera House Jorn Utzon. This building is rarely photographed and even less seen. This movie shows even the inside of the Building. Christianity and Islam have many things in common. A very rich architectural legacy is one of them. In this project the architecture of the usually enclosed Christian monasteries was turned inside out in order to create a cross with connections to society on all sides. For the large auditorium the architecture of the Mosque was turned upside down to open up for large amounts of visitors. Both religions bound by their differences. www.universearchitecture.com

The Mall of Kuwait situated near the Persian Gulf coast, south of Kuwait City. The building form takes its inspiration from Palace architecture and Arabic gardens and landscape. Three department stores anchor a diamond plan of four malls. A central atrium, the Grand Court, connects the malls as a meeting place for family and friends. A leisure complex and ten screen cinema provide entertainment when the shopping is finished. A 750 seat performance hall is the cultural anchor of the complex.

Madinat al-Hareer (Arabic: مدينة الحرير, meaning "City of Silk"), is a proposed 250 square kilometer planned urban area in Subiya, Kuwait, an area just opposite Kuwait City which, upon construction, would include the Burj Mubarak al-Kabir , the world's tallest structure, a natural desert reservation of 2 square kilometres, a duty free area which will be beside a new airport, in addition to a large business center, conference areas, environmental areas, athletic areas, and areas that concentrate on media, health, education, and industry. The City of Silk will also include numerous tourist attractions, hotels, spas, and public gardens. The city will be built in individual phases with total completion within twenty-five years. The development will cost an estimated 25 billion Kuwaiti Dinars (~94 billion USD). Burj Mubarak al-Kabir should not be confused with the Al Jaber Tower proposed by the famous Italian architect Amero Marchetti, part of the planned "ethic city". If built the Al Jaber Tower would reach 1852 meters. As of July 27, 2008, the government of Kuwait has already approved the project, with some of the project's funding coming from the budget surplus over the course of 2007 and 2008. Construction on the actual site has also begun; this is seen through bridges, highways and roads being laid down as basic infrastructure to facilitate future construction of structures within the city. The Aviary is a proposed development project for Kuwait presented by the Kuwait Fund for Arabic Economic Development (KFAED). The project's goal is to replace the existing traditional 'pigeon market' to a nearby location within Al-Rai area, in an attempt to integrate tourism, leisure and animal rights to the bird and pet trade. By locating the project along the 5th Ring Road and near the Avenues Mall, The Aviary will be right across Kuwait Zoo, encouraging a connection in the future. The project's facilities includes a public enclosed aviary, animal and pet shops, restaurants, an amphitheater, pigeon towers and a falconry field. The main entrance leads to a large aviary in the center of the project that will be surrounded by restaurants and pet supplies shops. The west wing of the building houses fish and aquarium supplies shops, while the western aviary will feature ponds and aquatic life. Across the the west wing, the eastern aviary will feature various plant life and exotic birds surrounded by bird and pet shops.

q8istuff.blogspot.com Violet Penelope Lucas-Calcraft was born in Gautby, Lincolnshire, England. Her father was Neville Lucas-Calcraft, a land agent. The 1900 census shows the family were living in Moat House, Gautby: the house was owned by Robert Charles de Gray Vyner, for whom Violet's father worked. She met her husband Harold Dickson (1881 -- 1959) in Marseilles, France, shortly after the end of World War I, where she was working in a bank. She travelled out to meet him in India, where he was stationed and where they were married. Shortly afterwards he was posted to Iraq. Harold Dickson served as British Political Agent in Bahrain from 1919-1920.He also served in Persia (present-day Iran). In 1929 he was appointed British Political Agent to Kuwait, and served in this role until 1936. He briefly held this role again in 1941. Violet accompanied him on all these postings, and soon became fluent in Arabic. After his retirement from political service, Harold Dickson worked for the Kuwait Oil Company. Violet Dickson was a keen botanist and published a book on the flora of Bahrain and Kuwait in 1955. She regularly sent wild flower collections to the botanic gardens at Kew Gardens in London, and the desert plant that she introduced to science, Horwoodia dicksoniae (known as khuzama in Arabic), was named in her honour. She wrote her autobiography, Forty Years in Kuwait, at the urging of Ian Fleming, author of the James Bond series of books. He had travelled to Kuwait in 1960 to ...
