Jeongok-Ri Palaeolithic Festival 2012
Duration : 560 Seconds

I took part in the Jeongok-Ri Palaeolithic Festival in South Korea, May 2012, on behalf of the South Tyrolean Museum of Archaeology in Bozen/Bolzano, Italy. Archaeologists from all over the world showed their heritage education work to the Korean public. A conference of all participants and an excursion to (pre)historical sites, organized by our Korean colleagues from the Institute of East Asian Archaeology made this a wonderful event. Thank you and goodbye Korea! eng.ggcf.or.kr www.iceman.it www.archeoparc.it

1500 years old girl's facial & body resurrected by Korean scientists
Duration : 93 Seconds

Her petite features and slim build would have marked her out as a beauty in any era. And by using modern technology South Korean archaeologists have been able to recreate just how the 5ft servant girl would have looked 1500 years ago, the first time such a task has been done in the country. The life-size model of what is believed to be a 16-year-old who lived with a powerful family in the sixth century Gaya Kingdom (42-562) was unveiled today. 'We have excavated human bones on many occasions but it is the first time we created a full-scale model,' said Kang Soon-hyung, director of the Gaya National Research Institute of Cultural Heritageo. However her beauty did not save her from a grisly fate as researchers believe she was buried alive with her dead masters. Why this is reckoned to have happened is expected to be contained in a study on the Gayan custom of burying the living with the dead which is soon to be published. The teenager's 5ft skeleton was used as a starting point for the model before layers of muscle and skin were added. The project was carried out by sculptor-anatomy specialist Kim Byung-ha and CELL, a firm that does costumes for feature films. Her remains were among those of four people that were unearthed during an excavation project carried out three years ago. She had a short jawbone and thus had a rather wide face but had a long neck. The teenager's arms were short but she had long fingers and toes. Her waist measured 21.5in and an examination of her ...

Duration : 190 Seconds

self made MV. song based on old Korean Love affair. Touching Story. www.archaeology.org To Won's Father June 1, 1586 You always said, "Dear, let's live together until our hair turns gray and die on the same day. How could you pass away without me? Who should I and our little boy listen to and how should we live? How could you go ahead of me? How did you bring your heart to me and how did I bring my heart to you? Whenever we lay down together you always told me, "Dear, do other people cherish and love each other like we do? Are they really like us?" How could you leave all that behind and go ahead of me? I just cannot live without you. I just want to go to you. Please take me to where you are. My feelings toward you I cannot forget in this world and my sorrow knows no limit. Where would I put my heart in now and how can I live with the child missing you? Please look at this letter and tell me in detail in my dreams. Because I want to listen to your saying in detail in my dreams I write this letter and put it in. Look closely and talk to me. When I give birth to the child in me, who should it call father? Can anyone fathom how I feel? There is no tragedy like this under the sky. You are just in another place, and not in such a deep grief as I am. There is no limit and end [to my sorrows] that I write roughly. Please look closely at this letter and come to me in my dreams and show yourself in detail and tell me. I believe I can see you in my dreams. Come to me secretly and ...

Fukoka, Japan April 11-12, 2009
Duration : 17 Seconds

Fukuoka (福岡市,Fukuoka-shi?) is the capital city of Fukuoka Prefecture and is situated on the northern shore of the island of Kyūshū in Japan, across the Korea Strait from South Korea's Busan. It is the most populous city in Kyūshū, followed by Kitakyūshū. It is the largest city and metropolitan area west of Osaka. The city was designated on April 1, 1972 by government ordinance. Greater Fukuoka (福岡都市圏) with 2.5 million people (2005 Census), is part of the heavily industrialized North Kyūshū zone. History Fukuoka (the area of Kashii, Hakata, Sawara and Imazu) is said to be the oldest city in Japan, because it is the nearest city to China and Korea. The area around Fukuoka is among the oldest non-Jōmon settlements in Japan. Dazaifu was an administrative capital in 663 AD, but some say[weasel words] a prehistoric capital was in the area. Ancient texts such as the Kojiki and archaeology confirm this was a very critical place in the founding of Japan. Some scholars[1] even go as far as to claim it was the first place outsiders and the Imperial Family set foot, but like many early Japan origin theories, it remains contested. See History of Japan. Fukuoka is sometimes still referred to as Hakata, the central ward of the city.

The Anthropology Song: A little bit Anthropologist
Duration : 272 Seconds

Wow, so two years later, and 100000 views! I had no idea when I wrote this that it would take off like it did. I was invited to Philadelphia to play this song at the AAA meeting in 2009, and interviewed by Lorenz Khazaleh for antropologi (which you can read at www.antropologi.info if you like). By far the best part is, I still am getting amazing messages from you folks from all over the world! Thanks so much, everyone; it's been really fun to be part of this :) I graduated with a BA in Anthro and Religious Studies in May '09 from the University of British Columbia. I wrote this song while pursuing my Masters at the University of Toronto, which I completed in 2010. During that time I also worked as an Anthro TA and won a teaching award from the university, in part because of this song. If you leave a comment, especially if you've watched this in a class, I'd love to know where/what school you're from. The chords are super simple: Am, C, G, D. Feel free to learn it, play it, reappropriate it, share it, and add your own verses! Also, any video responses are welcome. *** Lyrics: Hey Mom & Dad, I've got to come out and say, I've got to tell you, it's the only way Something I've learned about myself since I was away (at college) I really think that I might be a little bit -- of an Anthropologist Mom & Dad, I've been led astray, I've been experimenting with archaeolog(a)y On an excavation, tried C-14 dating And ground penetrating radar for the first time -- (if you know what I ...
