War? South & North Korea fire artillery shells, houses ablaze
Duration : 31 Seconds

Follow latest updates at www.facebook.com and twitter.com South Korea has confirmed firing dozens of artillery shells in retalliation against an attack by North Korea. The action followed earlier reports that North Korea had fired over 200 rounds across its western maritime border. Witnesses say the shells hit Yeonpyeong Island in the Yellow Sea where over 60 houses are ablaze. Reports say one South Korean marine has been killed and at least 14 people have been injured. Radio wars between North and South Korea
Duration : 480 Seconds

In North Korea there is no Internet. Information is controlled and rationed by the government, which feeds a carefully crafted set of lies and half-truths to its people everyday. Radios and TVs are officially fixed and can't be tuned to foreign broadcasts yet an increasing number of people are managing to keep tabs on the wider world via underground radio reception. Martyn Williams traveled to South Korea to find out the lengths people need to go to when there is no Internet.

3rd week of Korean War - 44th division and South Korean army on the front part I | Combat Bulletins
Duration : 1733 Seconds

The Korean War (25 June 1950 -- armistice signed 27 July 1953) was a military conflict between South Korea, supported by the United Nations, and North Korea, supported by the People's Republic of China (PRC), with military material aid from the Soviet Union. The war was a result of the physical division of Korea by an agreement of the victorious Allies at the conclusion of the Pacific War at the end of World War II. The Korean peninsula was ruled by Japan from 1910 until the end of World War II. Following the surrender of Japan in 1945, American administrators divided the peninsula along the 38th Parallel, with United States troops occupying the southern part and Soviet troops occupying the northern part. The failure to hold free elections throughout the Korean Peninsula in 1948 deepened the division between the two sides, and the North established a Communist government. The 38th Parallel increasingly became a political border between the two Koreas. Although reunification negotiations continued in the months preceding the war, tension intensified. Cross-border skirmishes and raids at the 38th Parallel persisted. The situation escalated into open warfare when North Korean forces invaded South Korea on 25 June 1950. It was the first significant armed conflict of the Cold War. The United Nations, particularly the United States, came to the aid of South Korea in repelling the invasion. A rapid UN counter-offensive drove the North Koreans past the 38th Parallel and almost to ...

Korean War - PART 22, Bombing of North Korea, 6.25 전쟁
Duration : 600 Seconds

This episode details the UN bombing campaign over North Korea and the results for the people on the ground. The majority of civillians killed in the Korean War were killed in North Korea by air attack. (This segment on the bombing of North Korea was censored from the US version of this documentary.) The truce talks continue with no progress, as the war stalemates at around the 38th Parallel. Wayne Madsen & Alex Jones: North Korea Attack Part Of RAND Plan For Total War? 1/2
Duration : 821 Seconds

Paul Joseph Watson www.infowars.com www.prisonplanet.tv http November 23, 2010 The exchange of artillery fire between North and South Korea, which the North says was started by South Korea firing shells during a military drill, could act as the catalyst for a huge new conflict that the RAND Corporation has been lobbying for over the past two years. The clash, which took place on the Yellow Sea border island of Yeonpyeong, killed two South Korean soldiers and wounded 18 others. North Korea has reportedly fired some 200 shells, setting numerous buildings on fire on the island. Both countries have elevated their threat status and are preparing for potential full out warfare. As we warned two years ago, the military-industrial complex has been yearning for a new conflict since the invasion of Iraq some seven and a half years ago. Back in October 2008, we reported on how the RAND Corporation was lobbying for a war to be started with a major foreign power in order to stimulate the American economy and prevent a double dip recession. The RAND Corporation is a notoriously powerful NGO with deep ties to the US military-industrial complex as well as interlocking connections with the Ford, Rockefeller, and Carnegie foundations. The RAND proposal, which was reported on by Chinese media sources, brazenly urged that a new war could be launched to benefit the economy, but stressed that the target country would have to be a major influential power, and not a smaller country on the scale ...

North Korea threatens 'sacred war'
Duration : 164 Seconds

Ever since the sinking of a South Korean warship in March, tensions on the Korean peninsula have been rising. North Korea is threatening to use its "nuclear deterrent" in response to joint naval exercises between the US and South Korea, which are due to begin on Sunday. Eight thousand US and South Korean troops will take part in four days of war games in the waters near nuclear-armed North Korea. For North and South Korea, which are still officially at war, the stakes of these military exercises are high. Bernard Smith reports.

Fire Power: Artillery in the Korean War
Duration : 1674 Seconds

thefilmarchive.org The North Korean Army launched the "Fatherland Liberation War" with a comprehensive air--land invasion using 231000 soldiers, who captured scheduled objectives and territory, among them Kaesong, Chuncheon, Uijeongbu, and Ongjin. Their forces included 274 T-34-85 tanks, some 150 Yak fighters, 110 attack bombers, 200 artillery pieces, 78 Yak trainers, and 35 reconnaissance aircraft. In addition to the invasion force, the North Korean KPA had 114 fighters, 78 bombers, 105 T-34-85 tanks, and some 30000 soldiers stationed in reserve in North Korea. Although each navy consisted of only several small warships, the North Korean and South Korean navies fought in the war as sea-borne artillery for their in-country armies. In contrast, the ROK Army defenders were vastly unprepared, and the political establishment in the south, while well aware of the threat to the north, were unable to convince American administrators of the reality of the threat. In South to the Naktong, North to the Yalu (1961), RE Appleman reports the ROK forces' low combat readiness as of 25 June 1950. The ROK Army had 98000 soldiers (65000 combat, 33000 support), no tanks (they had been requested from the US military, but requests were denied), and a 22--piece air force comprising 12 liaison-type and 10 AT6 advanced-trainer airplanes. There were no large foreign military garrisons in Korea at invasion time, but there were large US garrisons and air forces in Japan. Within days of the invasion ...

Korean War Crisis: Brought To You By Uncle Sam - Alex Jones Tv 1/3
Duration : 792 Seconds

Paul Joseph Watson www.infowars.com www.prisonplanet.tv November 23, 2010 Despite the fact that South Korea admits it fired the first shots that prompted the North to retaliate, the vast majority of the establishment press are feverishly blaming North Korea for a new escalation in the crisis, while failing completely to acknowledge the fact that the whole fiasco was generated as a direct result of Uncle Sam's policy through two separate administrations to ensure hereditary dictator Kim Jong-Il and his successors acquired the atom bomb. As we have exhaustively documented, North Korea's nuclear belligerency was almost exclusively a creation of the US government in that they armed the Stalinist state both directly and indirectly through global arms dealers under their control, namely Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. While labeling North Korea as part of the "axis of evil," the US government was enthusiastically funding its nuclear weapons program at every stage. Both the Clinton and Bush administrations played a key role in helping Kim Jong-Il develop North Korea's nuclear prowess from the mid 1990's onwards. Just as with Saddam Hussein's chemical and biological weapons program, it was Donald Rumsfeld who played a key role in arming Kim-Jong-Il. Rumsfeld was man who presided over a $200 million dollar contract to deliver equipment and services to build two light water reactor stations in North Korea in January 2000 when he was an executive director of ABB (Asea Brown Boveri). Wolfram ...

North Korea - Suspicious Minds - Part 1 of 3
Duration : 440 Seconds

North Korea - Suspicious Minds - Part 1 of 3 Frontline/World: Suspicious Minds www.pbs.org Their journey begins on a rainy day in South Korea at "the absurdly named demilitarized zone, one of the most heavily armed places on earth," according to reporter Ben Anderson. An American soldier takes Anderson and Daws on a tour of the border that has divided the Korean peninsula since the end of World War II -- and that is a last vestige of the Cold War. The soldier points out North Korean "jammers," which block foreign radio and television broadcasts. "So they have no idea of what actually goes on in the outside world," says the soldier. "They think that a BMW is manufactured by North Korea." Before leaving for North Korea, Anderson meets in Seoul with a group of North Korean refugees who had fled from famine and political repression. "The moment a child utters a word they start him on ideological training," one refugee says. "So they can't think for themselves." As soon as they land in North Korea, Anderson and his producer are greeted by their official "minders," Mr. Pak and Miss Pak (no relation). Anderson's first impression is of the streets outside the hotel, how quiet and empty they are. "North Korea is desperate to engage with the outside world," he notes. But the regime takes a heavy-handed approach to public relations. North Korea is infamous for the "cult of personality" surrounding the late dictator Kim Il-sung, who ruled from 1948 until his death in 1994. Anderson's ...

American Prisoners of War in China! Part 1/5
Duration : 538 Seconds

It is January 1954. The Korean War is over. Captured UN soldiers held in POW camps are free to return home. Those who refuse repatriation to their homeland are transferred to a neutral zone and given 90 days to reconsider their decision. Among them are 22 American soldiers who decide defiantly to stay in China. Back in the United States, McCarthyism is at its height. Many Americans believe these young men have been brainwashed by Chinese communists through a new form of thought control. But what really happened? Featuring never-before-seen footage from the Chinese camps as well as interviews with former POWs and their families, They Chose China tells the fascinating stories of these forgotten American dissidents. With the Cold War fading into memory, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Shuibo Wang (Sunrise Over Tiananmen Square) aims his camera on this astonishing story. In They Chose China, we meet and begin to understand a group of courageous men who fought for and then cut ties with the USA.
