After the Korean War, the Korean Peninsula became a divided country, with two governments. The Korean people were forcibly separated. North and South Koreans share a language and ethnicity, but they lead very different lives. The students at a school for North Korean defectors prepared a performance through which they hope to convey their dream of becoming a more integral part of South Korean society. October 2007 They risk all trying to make it across the North Korean border to China, only to find no guarantee of a better life. At constant risk of being deported, these refugees live a half life in the shadows. "I thought if I came to China life would be better", laments one woman. "I was wrong". Without Chinese language skills, most North Korean refugees remain at risk of being discovered by the police. "The police pay 200 yuan to anyone who discloses the whereabouts of North Koreans", explains one refugee. "That's what I'm most afraid of. I'm always hiding". Easy prey for the unscrupulous, they're forced to do dangerous jobs for little money. "Most North Korean women fall into the hands of human traffickers", states activist Tim Peters. "They're sold into prostitution". Unlike other countries, China classes North Korean refugees as economic migrants. If caught, they face return to Pyongyang and almost certain execution. "North Koreans are being sent back by the hundreds", complains Peters. Without external pressure, the situation for these refugees is unlikely to improve. Their only hope is that scrutiny surrounding the 2008 Beijing Olympics will encourage China to change its policy.

OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE IN THIS VIDEO now translation included * 2011-01-08 made/uploaded by south koreans who hacked into youtube account of north koreans. south koreans purposely made this flash movie to mock north korean future 3rd leader, son of kim jung il. there is this website "DC inside", it is a website that provides space to talk about things and upload picutures/videos of variety of topics and contents. one group of ppl gathered within this DC inside decided to make a flash video of mocking kim jung un, son of current north korean dictator and upload it in youtube thru hacking north korean's account. they have also hacked into north koreans account of twitters and uploaded demeaning picture of north korean dictator and his son to celebrate his birthday. north korea reacted to this by sending ppds or something attack on DC inside. fun internet fight going on between south korean free ppl and north korean officials.

Cambodia has never won an Olympic medal. At this year's games in London, the country will try to break the steak with some Korean help. Two of Cambodia's Olympic hopefuls -- one in wresting, the other in Tae Kwon Do -- have Korean coaches -- one from the South and one from the North. VOA's Daniel Schearf reports from Phnom Penh where the coaches and their athletes share the same training gym.
