Keurosing Crossing 1 of 10 Crossing is a Korean movie which is going to be aired in late June 2008. The movie is based on a real story about the life of a North Korean defector and his family. Actor Cha In-pyo starred as a North Korean coal miner who crossed illegally into China to get medicine for his wife. His wife passed away soon after he crossed the border, and he was separated from his 11-year-old son (played by Shin Myung-chul) who was trying to trace him from North Korea. The story shares the hardship of North Korean refugees in the late 1990s, with famine striking the country and killed an estimated 1 million people. The North Koreans couldnt cross into South Korea directly because of landmines and heavy military presence at the border these defectors had to cross into China and made a de-tour to South Korea instead. The Chinese government, an ally of the North Korean regime, does not recognize the defectors as refugees and would send them back to North Korea to face stiff action. Crossing will represent South Korea as a candidate for the foreign film category at the 81st Academy Awards.

The diary scene at the beginning is not a real excerpt and the Korean dubbed over is actually talking about something completely irrelevant to the plot.

| Trailer | Crossing the Line ( A Blue-Eyed Pyongyang Citizen in North Korea) is a 2006 British documentary film by Daniel Gordon and Nicholas Bonner. The film is about a former US Army soldier, James J. Dresnok, who defected to North Korea on August 15, 1962. The film was directed and produced by British filmmakers Daniel Gordon and Nicholas Bonner, and was shown at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. The film, which was narrated by actor Christian Slater, was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the festival. The film was first screened in 2007 on the BBC. The film centred around Dresnok's history, highlighting his insecurity with America, particularly his desertion in 1962 to the DPRK. It also showed Dresnok in the present day, around Pyongyang (where he now lives), and interacting with his North Korean friends. Dresnok spoke exclusively to the filmmakers about his feelings about his childhood, his desertion from the United States Army, living in a country completely foreign and even hostile to his own, and his wife and children. Dresnok is also shown with fellow defectors, including Charles Robert Jenkins, who actually returned to Japan to be with his wife, Hitomi Soga, while filming was taking place. Dresnok felt hurt and angry at Jenkins, and he rebuffed allegiations of physical abuse that had been levelled against Dresnok and the North Korean regime by Jenkins who had been quoted in the press as making such allegations. Hey there Lovers of Movies, I'm Chelsea Cannell coming to you from our Clevver Movies HQ in Hollywood. Back when it was shot in 2009 the Red Dawn Remake focused on Chinese Villains takin' on the US gov but now the word is MGM has decided to spend around 1 million dollars to change the villains in post to North Koreans. Apparently they felt having Chinese villains invade the US would not bode well for our ties with the country, so North Korean Villians would be a safer bet. Right now they are working on changing flags, military symbols etc. for the movie that was originally supposed to come out in November of last year but now will likely have its release sometime this year. The film stars Chris Hemsworth and Adrianne Palicki of Thor and TV's new wonder woman, which could work out nicely for the flick which may be able to piggy back on the success of the actors recent projects at the box office.
