This film was produced by the UNESCO Amman office to highlight the work carried out by JOHUD, the Jordan Hashemite Fund for Human Development", with funds from UNESCO, to preserve and promote the cultural space of the Bedu in Petra and Wadi Rum, ensuring that oral traditions, knowledge and skills are transmitted to younger generations. The Cultural Space of the Bedu in Petra and Wadi Rum is on the Representative List of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This film showcases some examples of the lifestyle of the Bedu which is in danger of disappearing.

When was the last time you sat down and enjoyed a film about the sneaker culture? A film created by and for those who understand that sneakers are much more than just footwear? Like indie film producers Major Clemens and Kimelia Weathers, your answer is probably never. Fueled by a passion for all things fresh, the filmmaking duo set out to fill this void in mainstream cinema. The result of their collaboration was ELEVENS, a coming-of-age high school comedy that celebrates the Jordan brand and speaks to sneaker collectors and enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds. After completing the screenplay in late 2009, Clemens and Weathers tried pitching the story to major film studios without much success. "No one wants to see a movie about the sneakers," they were told repeatedly. Determined to prove the Hollywood machine wrong, the duo decided to move forward on their own by self-producing a 15 minute "teaser" with the hopes of gaining an audience large enough to secure financing for the full length feature. The trailer, currently viewable on Facebook, Youtube and Vimeo, has already started a buzz among sneaker fans. Clemens and Weathers attribute the success of the trailer to the eagerness of sneaker enthusiasts who are ready for a film that celebrates their lifestyle and passion. "Hollywood has no idea how big sneaker (Jordan) culture really is," says writer/producer Clemens. "There are plenty of movies that celebrate other subcultures and it's finally time that this culture ...
