Komanoyu Ryokan in The Mountains of Japan
Duration : 316 Seconds

www.TravelsWithSheila.com The Komanoyu Ryokan was very luxurious and nothing like the little inns we had been staying at with the exception of Futons. Yes, there were futons, laid out by staff in a very large room. I was extremely disappointed in the hot springs, expecting an Onsen similar to one near the Kita Alps with large, outdoor and communal hot springs not the segregated by sex small pools. It also appeared that the ballyhooed white monkeys that we hoped to see in this area had packed their bags and gone on vacation. A huge, banquet dinner mitigated my disappointment. But I still can't decide what those teesy tadpole looking fish were. Enlighten me, please!

Japan Travel Guide: Niijima Tokyo Surfing Island! 新島★
Duration : 1525 Seconds

Japan Travel Guide Series! ☆☆ Short random Tokyo Clips Here!! www.youtube.com ☆☆ チャンネル登録と友達紹介も忘れないでね! 新しい動画をアップしたらすぐみれるようになるから。 Other week I read the Metropolis Magazine's article on Niijima so I decided to go. It was a very beautiful and strange experience. This Island is located about 3hrs from Tokyo by a fast ferry. (The slower one takes 6 hrs!) They have an amazing surf beach. It is technically part of the Tokyo Prefecture. I found the overall business mentality to be a bit odd. For example they don't rent surf boards at the "Surf Station" by the beach. Surf board rentals are expensive, 4000 yen for short, 5000 yen for long board for about 5 hours. To spend the night it costs about 5000 yen. But to rent a car it's 8000 yen for 6 hours. But they have a free outdoor Onsen/Hot Spring! And they have an internationally renowned Glass Art Museum. (I know, because I went there to use the toilet!) Anyways, if you want to go to Niijima, here's the link to the place we stayed and ferry information. An Age Old Problem - Japan - December 2010
Duration : 1667 Seconds

At the time of year when our concern for the elderly is particularly strong, we travel to Japan, the world's oldest nation, to discover the secret to dealing with advancing age. But have they got the answers? With 30 million people over 65, Japan's life expectancy is the highest in the world. In the countryside it seems that keeping active and sociable is the secret; "a positive mental attitude is what counts". Yet in Tokyo the story is not quite the same - in the city the elderly aren't active through choice. Meagre pensions mean they often work up to their deaths. More and more old people line the streets, "living one day to the next". With a huge burden falling on the younger generation, the technophile Japanese see robots as a solution, most recently developing a 'robot suit' walking aid, designed to increase independence. It's a step in the right direction, but is it too little too late? ORF

Fukushima Japan Nuclear update 5/21/12
Duration : 860 Seconds

too weary for usual edits today... fill in your own WTF moments... Arnie Gundersen explains why a Global effort has not been made to extract the spent fuel at Fukushima SFP #4 sighting that it would draw more awareness that the United States and others have the same design on the Mark 1 containment design and the NRC does not want negative publicity. A new building material to absorb cesium has been developed, but they say NOTHING about the OTHER radioactive isotopes. Talk about the Pacific Garbage patch from the tsunami, and still nobody has plans for when it arrives. Here's a killer: Geoparks to show how natural disasters are going to be "preserved" to teach others about disasters... Meanwhile, get this, a low cost travel agency sends people to Fukushima and explains the radiation to them (of course they do NOT tell What they told the visitors) in an Effort To Increase Tourism to Fukushima! (MsMilky rolling eyes). A crack very large in spent fuel pool may threaten all life as we know it - at least in the northern hemisphere. (repeating the significance of the situation). various other articles. NRC Chairman Gregory B. Jaczko - Resignation Statement.... (see link below) www.youtube.com Latest Headlines: enenews.com 'The Sleeper': Unit 3 building 'fatally flawed' (VIDEO) Ambassador's comments translated by Asahi: Another accident at No. 4 reactor building could cause the "final catastrophe of the world" Gundersen: Pyrophoric fire if fuel rods in Unit 4 pool are not cooled ...

Living With A Japanese family
Duration : 807 Seconds

~*PLEASE READ*~ Footage from my trip to Japan. I lived with a host family from July 6th to August 4th, 2011. I went to Japan through LABO, who partnered with 4-H International Exchange programs. You can visit the LABO site here: labo-exchange.com Since I was 12 years old, it has been my dream to live in Japan. I'd never seen an anime, and I knew nothing about the pop culture, all I knew was that it looked like a beautiful place to visit, and I wanted to learn more. I did a lot of research, and I fell in love with not only the scenery, but the people, the food, the music, and their culture as a whole. I started learning Japanese when I was 14, because I decided that I would live there one day. Of course, it wasn't very likely to happen. I'm very lucky to have an amazing mom who supports me in my dreams. She told me about 4-H partnering with LABO for a one month homestay. We didn't have much money, but she was willing to do anything to help me achieve my dream. Before I knew it, I was on my way to Japan. Doing a home stay in Japan isn't even comparable to going as a tourist. As a tourist, you're an outsider. When you live with the Japanese, you become a member of their family, and live a Japanese life. I will never forget the people I met during my homestay, and we still stay in touch today. I made my channel to encourage others do do homestays, not only in Japan, but in any country. It's an amazing experience that opens your eyes to a culture you would have never known ...
