Mayumi Itsuwa-(4/9/09) Dakishimete (Hold Me Tight) w/ English & Romaji Subtitles
Duration : 188 Seconds

Dakishemete (Hold Me Tight or Embrace Me Close) was one of Mayumi Itsuwas unforgettable hits in the 80s along with the famous Koibito Yo, Kokoro No Tomo, Amayadori, Ribaibaru, Sayonara, Atsui Sayonara, etc. Romaji and English subtitles are embedded in the video in karaoke / videoke transition. Kudos to my online friend for providing the Romaji lyrics as well as the English translation. Thank you friend. Caveat : This video presentation is a project. I stumbled on this rare video of Mayumi Itsuwa online which she sang live in a medley. (She sang the first stanza and refrain only and went on with the next song). I was wanting for more. Then I found Mayumis complete audio version of this song (Dakishimete-Embrace Me Close or Hold Me Tight) in one streaming audio site. Being an avid fan of Mayumi Itsuwa, I decided to make a project by combining those audio and video. With a little tweaking and manipulation of the video (timing of studio recording is different from her live performance with orchestra) I completed this edited vid and I hope you like it. The live orchestra audio was deleted and replaced with her (Mayumi Itsuwa) commercial studio recording to give an impression of a complete live performance of this song. However, the audio quality is not as good as the commercial one from CD or DVD because its source was from streaming record. From the 2nd stanza up to the end, the video is mere duplication of the first part with variations in frame size and some video ...

A Taste Of Honey - Sayonara 1982
Duration : 236 Seconds

From the 1982 album Ladies Of The Eighties Biography by Ed Hogan A Taste of Honey had two huge hits that were very dissimilar from each other -- "Boogie Oogie Oogie" and a cover of Kyu Sakamoto's 1963 gold hit "Sukiyaki." The former was foot-stomping disco and the latter was languid and lush. Around 1971, singer/bassist/guitarist Janice Marie Johnson and keyboardist Perry Kimble decided to start a band after meeting at an audition for vacation cruise gigs for Princess Cruises. Taking their group name from one of their favorite songs, the band added several friends to the lineup and began playing Southern California bars and military bases in the US and abroad. Their lead singer, Greg Walker, quit to join Santana and guitarist Hazel Payne was added. After meeting with producer Fonce Mizell and his brother Larry, the group were signed to Capitol Records. The group's first single, "Boogie Oogie Oogie," was inspired by an unresponsive audience during a date at a military base; Johnson believed the crowd was chauvinistic toward the group's two female guitar players. The notorious bass solo intro came about when Johnson was warming up before the recording session, unaware that she was being recorded. The single sold more than two million copies and topped Billboard's charts for three weeks in fall 1978. The follow-up single, the slinky and funky "Do It Good," went to number 13 R&B and number 79 pop, and A Taste of Honey went platinum. After hearing Linda Ronstadt's version of ...

Ludwig August Lebrun Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra No.1 in D minor - 1 Allegro Oboe: Thomas Indermuhle Conductor.: Toomas Vavilov Estonian Orhestra ------------------------------------- Ludwig August Lebrun (2 May 1752 in Mannheim 16 December 1790 in Berlin) was a German oboist and composer. The well-known and celebrated oboe virtuoso (a contemporary described being "charmed by his divine oboe"), played with the orchestra at the court of the Prince-Elector Carl Theodor in Mannheim. He started playing with the orchestra at the age of 12 and became a full member at the age of 15. His father, also an oboist of probably Belgian origin, worked from 1747 at the Mannheim court. He was a contemporary of Carl Stamitz and Anton Stamitz, and belonged to the Mannheim school. In the summer 1778 he married the soprano Franziska Danzi, the sister of Franz Danzi, one of the most outstanding and well-known singers of the time. With her he travelled extensively across Europe: Milan, Paris, London, Vienna, Prague, Naples, Munich and Berlin. The couple's playing and singing complemented each other perfectly and arias with obbligato oboe were written for them, as for instance those in Günther von Schwarzburg (1777) by Ignaz Holzbauer, L'Europa riconosciuta (1778) by Antonio Salieri and Castore e Polluce (1787) by Georg Joseph Vogler. The music historian Charles Burney wrote about appearances of the pair: "Franziska Danzi and the excellent oboist Lebrun usually travel together, and it seems ...
