Leonard P. Howell | Save Pinnacle Heritage Site, Jamaica
Duration : 608 Seconds

Jamaican religious figure. He founded the Rastafari movement and is known as "The First Rasta." He began preaching in 1933 about the symbolic portent for the African Diaspora - the crowning of the King of Kings, Emperor Haile Sellassi I of Ethiopia as the Messiah returned to earth. Although this resulted in him being arrested, tried for sedition and imprisoned for two years, the Rastafari movement grew. He is still the original GONG! The Pinnacle Heritage Site is in dire need of your help. We are battling a multi-million dollar corporation who have "stolen" the title to "Pinnacle". Pinnacle is 500 acres of land donated to Family within the Rastafari Movement to live and cultivate freely. In April 2009, Jamaica National Heritage Trust drafted a declaration for Pinnacle Site to be a National Monument, "Heritage Site." Your help is needed to assist with Pinnacle Legal Fees. Trasparency and accountabilitly is guaranteed. Your donations is 100% tax deductible.

Jamaican Setup/Nine Night 25 June, 2011 (Todd Town,St. Bess) Pt. 2
Duration : 383 Seconds

A clip from the Setup on 25th June, 2011 in Todd Town, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. The Band (top setup band in the St Bess area) started at 10pm on the 25th June and finish at....... well sometime after 7am on the 26th which is when i left. Family, friends, neighbours joined in this celebration of the loss of a loved one. Plenty of Food, drink and of course rum flowing through out the night. Note Hopeton at the begining of clip (with the hat) who lifted spirits and later on swinging from the poles and I never see him touch the white rum ! Set up (or Nine night) in Jamaica is truly a memorable occasion you must experience it yourself. It's a wonderful part of Jamaican heritage. . Let us try incorporating back into Jamaican culture (within foreign countries ) this inspiring festival and celebration of life.
