Street Food in Israel
Duration : 229 Seconds

www.israel.org Food for thought on Israel's streets Street food is enjoying a revival around the world ... and the Israeli street is packed with mouth-watering morsels. If you enjoy food, then in Israel you don't have to splash out on expensive restaurants, instead you can enjoy one of the many inexpensive eateries that line the streets of the country's cities and towns. Fresh, authentic and quintessentially Mideast fare is on offer -- from falafel, deep-fried balls of mashed chickpeas, fava beans and herbs; to shwarma, slices of turkey, chicken or lamb shaved off a huge slab of meat rotating on a big spit; or hummus, a spread made of crushed chickpeas, tehini sauce, lemon, olive oil, salt and garlic. For the connoisseurs, there's also sabich, a sandwich made of fried eggplant, hard-boiled egg, salad and a mango pickle; shakshuka, a pan-fried casserole of poached eggs and spicy tomato sauce; or bourekas, pastry dough stuffed with mushrooms, mashed potato, spinach or cheese. In an age when fast food has become synonymous with junk food, Israel's street food vendors are proving that fast food doesn't have to be tasteless or unhealthy. Beyond Falafel - Food Culture in Israel
Duration : 329 Seconds

We chose food as the topic for our group for two main reasons. One, it is not a highly controversial topic and two it would be a fun, clever, and accurate way to represent the pluralistic side of Israel that is so commonly omitted from the conversation. Some highlights of our filming process consisted of tasting different types of food, seeing traditional kosher dishes to seeing Chinese Kosher dishes, and hearing what Israelis had to say about the wide array of food within their country. We hope you enjoy our documentary, and next time you are in Israel, while falafel is still very tasty, see what other scrumptious dishes you can find. Israel's gourmet food festival
Duration : 231 Seconds

Taam Ha'ir, now in its 15th year, recently returned to Tel Aviv for four tasty evenings in June. About 20 of Tel Aviv's best restaurants offered generous samples of their fare to some 300000 people during the four-day Taam Ha'ir, or Taste of the City, an annual gourmet food festival. Another 50 booths sold drinks and ingredients for home cooking, and there were children's workshops and charity sales. The 15-year-old festival was held last year in Haifa, but it returned to Tel Aviv's Yehoshua Park for four tasty evenings in June. We took a bite of some of the cuisine available, starting with beef over home fries in coffee sauce made by the chefs of Poike, and ending at El Babur, located outside the Arab-Israeli city of Nazareth and renowned for its gourmet Arab dishes such as ground lamb skewered on a long cinnamon stick. Ethnic Food Fest in Haifa, Israel
Duration : 132 Seconds

And our correspondents in Israel visited the 14th festival of tastes and ethnic food at Haifas city beach. Let's have a look. In Haifas beach, "Taam Ahir" is the second largest food festival in the world and the largest in Israel. This year "Taam Ahir" hosted many leading restaurants and organic food stands. [Uri Plez, "Lemon Grass" Restaurant Owner]: "We offer Asian food that is cooked on-site by Asian chefs that you can see here. The chefs toss the food, especially noodles, or chicken and beef with noodles, mix with special Asian sauces and it's all being served in small carton boxes, and the crowd is eating" Looks like visitors are enjoying the food and the Mediterranean ambiance. [Noah Godfried, Visitor]: "The food is very tasty and there's a good mood here a lot of fun and the weather is also nice." You can find in some of the stands exotic foods and you can also learn about many new kinds of food. [Uri Malhi, Sugar Cane Importer]: "From sugar cane one can make juice. We import sugar cane from Brazil, India, Jamaica and Cuba. We are the only ones who imports it to Israel, and it's a new product here. Syrup for cakes and many other things can be made from the juice, and we hope Israelis will love this healthy food." [Avigdor Malhi, Sugar Cane Importer]: It is said that Cleopatra used to give sugar cane to her lovers to increase their desire. People also say that Moses used a sugar cane stick to sweeten the water." Some of the chefs are also selling recipes to the ...

Zionist Kosher Tax and the symbols on YOUR food supporting Israel
Duration : 467 Seconds

IT'S TRUE! Major food companies throughout America/UK actually pay a Jewish Tax amounting to hundreds of million of dollars per year in order to receive protection. This hidden tax gets passed, of course, to all non-Jewish consumers of the products. The scam is to coerce the companies to pay up or suffer the consequences of a Jewish boycott. Jewish consumers have learned not to buy any kitchen product that does not have the (U) the (K) and other similar markings. The perpetrators of these elaborate extortion schemes are actually Rabbinical Councils that are set up, not just in the US but in other western countries as well. For example, the largest payola operation in the US is run by those who license the (U) symbol. The (U) symbol provides protection for many products sold here in Aztlan and in the United States. This symbol is managed by the The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations with headquarters at 333 Seventh Avenue in New York City. The scam works like a well oiled machine and is now generating vast amounts of funds, some of which are being utilized by the Union of Orthodox Rabbis to support the Zionist government in Israel. The website of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations is full of pro-Israel and anti-Palestinian propaganda. The "Kosher Nostra" protection racket starts when an Orthodox Rabbi approaches a company to warn the owners that unless their product is certified as kosher, or "fit for a Jew to eat", they will face a boycott by every Jew in ...
