Phillies Irish Heritage Night - clips of all the Irish dancing schools in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley. They also give the "Phillies Phanatic" some dancing lessons. A great night at the Ball Park. Blackthorn and The Brian Boru band were also awesome. The crowd loved 2011 Philadelphia Rose of Tralee Beth Keely who will represent Philadelphia in August at the Rose of Tralee. Irish people from all over the Delaware Valley had a great night.

Since 1991, Presidents of both parties and both Houses of Congress have declared March as Irish American Heritage Month. However, many of our public institutions, while actively promoting other heritage months yearly at taxpayer expense, refuse to recognize Irish American Heritage Month. Shouldn't the role of Irish Americans in our Nations history be equally recognized?

And yesterday, US troops who recently returned from Afghanistan, marched down Fifth Avenue as part of New York's St. Patricks Day Parade. NTDs Kylie Mou brings us this story. New Yorks St Patricks Day Parade is a day to celebrate your Irish heritage. But for these troops, yesterday it was a day to celebrate being back on American soil. Aaron Loor is one of 300 troops in the parade, who just returned from Afghanistan. [Aaron Loor, Fighting 69th Soldier]: So being back home it just makes you appreciate everything. ..Eating a slice of pizza without having to worry about getting shot or blown up. It feels good. Because when you are in the army, you are always wearing green. For many, this parade is New Yorks culture. The library of the Royal College of Science for Ireland is one of the most comprehensive Victorian science libraries in existence. It is unique in Ireland and UCD Library has had the privilege of inheriting this vast collection of approximately 15000 items. The James Joyce Library and Special Collections contain thousands of books, maps, pamphlets, journals, and other printed materials which were once part of the RCScI library and that of its predecessor, the Museum of Irish Industry. The library includes many rare scientific monographs of the 19th century and earlier, and complete runs of periodicals which are not to be found in any other Irish library. The Royal College of Science for Ireland existed between 1867-1926. It was an institution which marked a key moment in the development of science education in Ireland.
