NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in a recent interview that his "foremost" mission as the head of America's space exploration agency is to improve relations with the Muslim world. Though international diplomacy would seem well outside NASA's orbit, Bolden said in an interview with Al Jazeera that strengthening those ties was among the top tasks President Obama assigned him. He said better interaction with the Muslim world would ultimately advance space travel. "When I became the NASA administrator -- or before I became the NASA administrator -- he charged me with three things. One was he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science ... and math and engineering," Bolden said in the interview. The NASA administrator was in the Middle East last month marking the one-year anniversary since Obama delivered an address to Muslim nations in Cairo. A multi-stage missile. Spiraling motion is automatically activated when stage one seperates from stage two. Pivoting fins on a rotatable tube cause the spiralling motion. One fin is larger than another, or one fin can be rotated to agreater degree than another. The concept can be fitted to existing multi-stage missiles. The missile is made to travel in a spiraling motion without rolling. Springs or gas pressurised struts are held back by a nylon cord. When stage two ignites, the nylon cord is melted quickly, releasing the springs or stuts, which in turn pushes a tube forward which causes the fins on a rotatable tube to pivot. The spiralling motion is automatic on seperation. No need to waste precious time on useless waypoints

The cyclists were demonstrating against Israeli apartheid policies in the Jordan Valley, which limit Palestinian access to roadways as part of an ongoing campaign of ethnic cleansing against the indigenous Bedouin communities of the Valley. Over 1500 activists from 15 countries attempted to fly to Ben Gurion Airport to travel to Bethlehem in the occupied Palestinian territories. They were invited by Palestinian activists to help build a school and protest Israel's control of all access points to the occupied territories. Hundreds were prevented from even boarding their planes and instead staged protests at various airports. Dozens were deported upon arrival while dozens arrested and transferred to Givon prison in central Israel. Israeli activists attempted to hold signs welcoming them at the airport but were immediately arrested and given a 15 day distancing order from the airport. TYPHOON JETS arrive in London to test 2012 OLYMPIC GAMES Security. False Flag event? Terror Attack? Royal Air Force Typhoon jets have arrived at an airbase in London for a large-scale Olympic security exercise. The aircraft will be based at RAF Northolt, taking part in eight days of training over London and the home counties until 10 May, as part of operation Exercise Olympic Guardian. It is the first time fighter jets have been stationed at the west London site since WWII. But anti-military campaigners warn the jets will create a "climate of fear". The Typhoon jets, which can travel at up to 1370 miles per hour, will put pilots through their paces, testing security in the skies ahead of their vital role during the 2012 Olympic Games, which start in July. Military chiefs have alerted residents in south-east England about the operation, warning that they will notice an increase in often loud air activity, especially on 4 and 5 May. Bringing 'real fear' Defence Secretary Phillip Hammond said: "Whilst there is no specific threat to the Games, we have to be ready to assist in delivering a safe and secure Olympics for all to enjoy." He said the Typhoon operation at RAF Northolt underlined the "commitment of the Ministry of Defence and our armed forces to keeping the public safe at a time when the world will be watching us". "Austin's Airport Advisory Commission approved a resolution on Tuesday night advising the city council to oppose airport body scanners and invasive body searches," reports KXAN.com. "What we need to do is let them know it is not acceptable in Austin," said Texans for Accountable Government's Heather Fazio. We don't have body scanners here. We don't want body scanners here. We don't need them here." The TSA has signaled its intention to install the scanners at Austin, but the date has continually been put back, with the agency identifying next year or even as late as 2012 before the devices will be activated. The city joins a number of other lobby groups, state and local authorities around the country that have resolved to either block the body scanners or kick the TSA out of airports altogether, including New Jersey, where Republican state Senator Mike Doherty has vowed to introduce legislation that will ban both the scanners ...

The E-4B's official designation is the National Emergency Airborne Command Post (NEACP), pronounced "knee-cap." But the aircraft is more commonly known as the "doomsday plane," because its premier function is to serve as a flying command, control and communications (C3) center in the event of a national emergencyor nuclear war. When the president travels on Air Force One, an E-4B usually follows behind the presidential entourage. Unlike Air Force One, however, the E-4B can be refueled in midair and so has considerably greater range. For this reason, when the president goes abroad on long trips he occasionally flies on an E-4B to save travel time. The plane also doubles as a mobile office for the Secretary of Defense. Recently, for example, when the newly appointed Defense Secretary Robert Gates traveled to London for talks with Prime Minister Tony Blair, he rode on an E-4B. According to various reports, his predecessor, Donald Rumsfeld, often used the plane, and much preferred it. A recent article in the Air Force Civil Engineer describes the E-4B as "a truly amazing" aircraft, and provides more details about its impressive specs.
