The Fire of Love آتش عشق سعدی Iran Poetry
Duration : 316 Seconds

A love poem of Sa'di read by: Bahman Solati The fire of love آتش عشق سعدی Iran Poetry Abū-Muḥammad Muṣliḥ al-Dīn bin Abdallāh Shīrāzī (1184 1283/1291?), better known by his pen-name as Saʿdī (Persian: سعدی) or, simply, Saadi, was one of the major Persian poets of the medieval period. He is recognized not only for the quality of his writing, but also for the depth of his social thoughts.\ A native of Shiraz, his father died when he was an infant. Saadi experienced a youth of poverty and hardship, and left his native town at a young age for Baghdad to persue a better education. As a young man he was inducted to study at the famous an-Nizzāmīya center of knowledge (1195-1226), where he excelled in Islamic Sciences, law, governance, history, Arabic literature and theology. The unsettled conditions following the Mongol invasion of Khwarzim and Iran led him to wander for 30 years abroad through Anatolia (he visited the Port of Adana, and near Konya he met proud Ghazi landlords), Syria (he mentions the famine in Damascus), Egypt (of its music and Bazaars its clerics and elite class), and Iraq (the port of Basra and the Tigris river). He also refers in his work about his travels in Sind (across the Indus and Thar with a Turkic Amir named Tughral), India (especially Somnath where he encountered Brahmans) and Central Asia (where he meets the survivors of the Mongol invasion in Khwarezm). He also performed the pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina and also visited Jerusalem[1]. Saadi ...

سپهری Tribute to Sohrab Sepehri 1928-1980 ,Iran, Painter, Poet سهراب
Duration : 409 Seconds

Music Fariborz Lachini at www.lachini.com Sohrab Sepehri (Persian: سهراب سپهری ) (October 7, 1928 - April 21 , 1980) was a notable modern Persian poet and a painter. see also payvand.com He was born in Kashan in Isfahan province. He is considered one of the five most famous modern Persian (Iranian) poets who have practiced "New Poetry" (a kind of poetry that often has neither meter nor rhyme). Other practitioners of this form were Nima Youshij, Ahmad Shamlou, Mehdi Akhavan-Sales, and Forough Farrokhzad, all of whom are now dead. Sohrab Sepehri was also one of Iran's foremost modernist painters. Sepehri died in Pars hospital in Tehran of leukemia. His poetry is full of humanity and concern for human values. He loved nature and refers to it frequently. The poetry of Sohrab Sepehri bears great semblance to that of EE Cummings. Well-versed in Buddhism, mysticism and western traditions, he mingled the western concepts with eastern ones, thereby creating a kind of poetry unsurpassed in the history of Persian literature. To him, new forms are new means to express his thoughts and feelings. His poetry has been translated into many languages including French, English, Spanish, Italian, Swedish and Russian.

Forugh Farrokhzad: Documentary "The poet and leprosy" - 1
Duration : 2395 Seconds

Forugh Farrokhzād (Persian: فروغ فرخزاد) January 5, 1935, Tehran, Iran -- February 13, 1967) was an Iranian poet and film director. Forugh Farrokhzad is arguably one of Iran's most influential female poets of the twentieth century. She was a controversial modernist poet and an iconoclast. Forugh was born in Tehran to career military officer Colonel Mohammad Bagher Farrokhzad and his wife Touran Vaziri-Tabar in 1935. The third of seven children (Amir, Massoud, Mehrdad, Fereydoun , Pouran, Gloria), she attended school until the ninth grade, then was taught painting and sewing at a girl's school for the manual arts. In 1958 she spent nine months in Europe and met filmmaker and writer Ebrahim Golestan, who reinforced her own inclinations to express herself and live independently. She traveled to Tabriz and made a film about Iranians affected by leprosy. The 1962 documentary film titled "The House is Black" won several international awards. During the twelve days of shooting, she became attached to Hossein Mansouri, the child of two lepers. She adopted the boy and brought him to live at her mother's house. Hossein Mansouri tells about his life with Forugh in this documentary. Directed by Claus Strigel.
