Not far from Yogyakarta, Borobudur is a ninth-century Mahayana Buddhist monument in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. The monument comprises six square platforms topped by three circular platforms, and is decorated with 2672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. A main dome, located at the center of the top platform, is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues seated inside perforated stupa. This is the single most visited tourist attraction in Indonesia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Prambanan is the largest Hindu temple compound in Central Java in Indonesia, located approximately 18 km east of Yogyakarta. The temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the largest Hindu temples in south-east Asia. It is characterised by its tall and pointed architecture, typical of Hindu temple architecture, and by the 47m high central building inside a large complex of individual temples.

Padang food is usually cooked once per day, and all customers choose from those dishes, which are left out on display until no food is left. Southeast Asia (or Southeastern Asia) is a subregion of Asia, consisting of the countries that are geographically south of China, east of India and north of Australia. Located within the Yogyakarta province, Yogyakarta city is known as a center of classical Javanese fine art and culture such as batik, ballet, drama, music, poetry and puppet shows. It is also famous as a center for Indonesian higher education. At Yogyakarta's center is the kraton, or Sultan's palace. We visited it, and it was both thumbs down... But other parts of the city were quite charming, despite us having to dodge a multitude of batik pushers.

This shy little Coconut Octopus put on a cool show for us, carrying these Scallop shells around. These octopuses make homes out of whatever is available, including empty coconut shells. I wonder if this octopus made a lunch out of the scallop before he walked off with its shell?

A Sukhoi Superjet 100 on a demonstration flight for Media, Airline and Aviation personnel with 46 people onboard crashed near a mountain in Indonesia on Wednesday. Several People from Indonesian Airlines, Aerospace and Travel companys, along with two media organizations were represented onboard. The Superjet — a 75- to 95-seat plane — was being touted as a challenger to similar-sized jets from Canada's Bombardier Inc. and Brazil's Embraer.Indonesian rescuers have found no sign of survivors yet at the crash site.
