Indonesian civil society delegates travel to Brussels to urge European Union (EU) member states to outlaw illegal Indonesian timber entering their markets. One delegate, a Papuan tribal leader, speaks on behalf of his community. These meetings and the continued work of Indonesian civil society has meant that they have now been officially recognised as an integral part of the negotiations between the EU and the Indonesia government on illegal logging.

The International Law Moot Court Society Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia. This event, CONFIDENT SPEAKER was conducted to help the audience with their verbal communication skills. Majority of the audience were the members of the International Law Moot Court Society Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, needed the training in preparation of debate competitions that they regularly involved. Speaker and Trainer Patar Simatupang assisted them to be confident through a two day intensive training in verbal communications. Although the audience has competed and won several debate contests, members of the organization needed to continuously practice. Patar started by reminding participants of the general meaning of a debate, focused on the judging for the judges' point of views. Though judges should not permit their own convictions on the topic being debated to influence the decision but most of the time a judge can be 'satisfied' by a speaker's confident. The immediate goal of each team is to convince a panel of judges and the audience that its arguments on the subject are better than those of the opposition. The emphasis is on logic, but each team may use appeals and arguments that also carry emotional weight. However, debate is generally characterized by emphasis on logical rather than emotional appeal. They refuse to end their occupation of the building until Megawati is reinstated by Jakarta's parliament. In an alliance with the radical People's Democratic Party (PRD), the PDI issues an unprecedented challenge to President Surharto. Megawati calls the rebellion, "a spontaneous act". PRD supporters from teeming kampongs and cramped factories meet in Jakarta's back streets to discuss party strategy. Surharto's yellow 'Golkar' party organise martial youth rallies to impress new recruits. Businessman Agung Laksana profits from Golkar's majority, living in an opulent villa and riding through the city centre in his stretch BMW. He fears political upheaval will upset the economy. Trailer for the new series "The Team": Indonesia. Tim Bui (Prison Team) is the story of a football team at Lawang Betung, a fictional prison on the island of Java. The prisoners that live there are a microcosm of Indonesia - they come from diverse socioeconomic, religious and ethnic backgrounds. Moreover, they have been accused of variety of criminal acts, from terrorism to drug trafficking. Most prisoners fall into one of two gangs - the Javanese gang (led by Joko) and the Batak gang (led by Togar). Over the course of the series, the violent, antagonistic relationship between the gangs is transformed into one of cooperation and mutual benefit. Through the formation of the football team, Tim Bui explores how entrenched differences can be overcome and conflicts transformed within Indonesian society. The 13-episode first season of the series is produced by Search for Common Ground. Being aired on Metro TV from February 2012, Tim Bui also confronts important social issues in contemporary Indonesia, such as intolerance toward minorities, corruption, institutional reform, women's leadership and the de-radicalisation of convicted terrorists and disengagement with violence. Much of SFCG's work in Indonesia is focused within these fields.
