A martial arts action film written by a Welsh director has premiered at 12 cinemas across Wales. Set almost entirely in a tower block and starring Indonesian actors, The Raid is written by Hirwaun-born Gareth Evans. The film has impressed audiences across the world and rights to a re-make have already been sold in America. Mr Evans studied script writing at the University of Glamorgan in Treforest. He came up with the film's concept when he met an expert in the Silat martial art whilst working on a documentary in Indonesia. Sachin Krishnan caught up with the director at the film's premiere. Birdprayers manifest itself every time is one or more disciplines: Allthough that the different editions of Birdprayers will be always accompanied by the video performances "All in the Mind", additional there will be also installations, sculptures, drawings, paintings, prints, readings, discussions and other forms of communication, sometimes in collaboration with other artists.
