Serbian Death Camps in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Duration : 288 Seconds

( www.BosniaFacts.info ) Prisoners were commonly subjected to the most inhumane treatment imaginable. Mass executions, torture, rape, and other sexual assaults were frequently reported. Those in control of the apprehension and detention of prisoners were often reported to have stolen prisoner belongings. Guards and soldiers frequently humiliated those detained. Sometimes prisoners were placed in dangerous situations and used in military operations, such as mine clearing. There were also reports of reprisal killings carried out upon innocents detained in a number of camps.

Integrating Bosnia and Herzegovina into Europe: Challenges and Perspectives
Duration : 3369 Seconds

Two decades after the start of the Bosnian war, Foreign Minister Zlatko Lagumdzija says his government wants Bosnia to join NATO and the European Union as a way of assisting the country's economic and social cohesion. Speaking at the IISS almost 20 years to the day after the siege of Sarajevo began, Lagumdzija said that the Dayton Agreement that ended the inter-ethnic war in 1995 had left Bosnia with an incomplete peace and a complicated political system. However, with a new central government finally in place after months of stalemate, Lagumdzija said Bosnia wanted to get 'upgraded from cargo to economy' by entering NATO's Membership Action Plan at the military alliance's summit in Chicago this May. This would be with a view to full membership in 2014. Lagumdzija said his government would also do everything within its power to lodge Bosnia's application for EU membership by the end of June.

Bosnia and Herzegovina death camps for muslims OMARSKA/TRNOPOLJE 6.8.92
Duration : 397 Seconds

BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA: PRISON CAMPS: OMARSKA / TRNOPOLJE: 6.8.92 ITN has gained exclusive access to some of the Serbian-run TX detention camps in Bosnia which are at the centre of persistent allegations of torture and executions. Omarska camp was a concentration camp run by Bosnian Serb forces, in Omarska, a mining town near Prijedor in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina, set up during the Prijedor massacre for Bosniak and Croat men and women.[1][2] Functioning in the first months of the Bosnian War in 1992, it was one of 677 alleged detention centres and camps set up throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina during the war.[3] While nominally an "investigation center" or "assembly point" for members of the non-Serb population,[1] Human Rights Watch classified Omarska as a concentration camp.[4][5] The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, located in The Hague, has found several individuals guilty of crimes against humanity perpetrated at Omarska.[6] Murder, torture, rape, and abuse of prisoners was common.[6][7] About 6000 Bosniaks and Croats were held in appalling conditions at the camp for about five months in the spring and summer of 1992. Hundreds died of starvation, punishment beatings and ill-treatment. UN prosecutors compared the camps to those run by Nazis.[2] The camp existed from about May 25 to about August 21, 1992, where the Serb military and police unlawfully segregated, detained and confined some of more than 7000 Bosniaks and Bosnian Croats ...

Serbia/Bosnia-Herzegovina: A train connects former enemies | European Journal
Duration : 431 Seconds

Historically, the train link between Belgrade and Sarajevo was probably the most important one in the Balkans. Today the service lacks some of the comforts of yesteryear. The restaurant car is Serbian, but both of the other cars are Bosnian: one comes from the Serb-dominated political entity Republika Srpska while the other is from the Muslim-Croat Federation. The locomotive is changed every time the train crosses the border, slowing down the trip significantly. But the new train connection is symbolic -- showing that the former enemies are trying to improve their relationship.
