Malden is the eldest of three brothers, Malden was born Mladen George Sekulovich (from Mladen George Sekulović, Serbian Cyrillic: Младен Ђорђе Секуловић) in Chicago, Illinois.[1] His mother, Minnie (née Sebera) Sekulovich (1892 - 1996), was a Czech seamstress and actress, and his Serb father, Petar Sekulovich (1880 - 1976), worked in the steel mills and as a milkman.[2] The Sekulovich family roots trace back to the city of Bileća in Herzegovina. About this Event 09 Sep 2009 @ 12:45 How to Achieve Peace and Stability in the Balkans - A Bosnian Perspective About the Speech: After briefly reviewing the key challenges in the Western Balkans, Mr. Bajrovic made recommendations for the EU's future policy towards the region. The presentation argued that the EU needs to impose more specific and strict conditionality on countries like Bosnia and Serbia to secure lasting peace and stability. More importantly, the EU should refrain from making compromises that could cause instability, such as premature closure of the OHR in Bosnia and loosening requirements on Serbia's cooperation with the ICTY. At the same time incentives for reform should be encouraged, such as offering a visa-free regime for all countries in the region. About the Speaker: Reuf Bajrovic is a political analyst from Sarajevo. He advises a number of political and nongovernmental actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina and has worked with various foreign development agencies. He is a founder and director of a strategic consultancy firm and a co-founder of the leading Bosnian think tank ACIPS. Mr. Bajrovic graduated from University of Louisville in USA with a degree in political science and holds two master degrees from University of Bologna and University of Sarajevo, the first in democracy and human rights in Southeast Europe and the second in governance and policy of European integration. In 1993, the bleakest time of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a group of actors from Belgrade, utterly unaware of what theyre setting themselves up for, embark on a search for quick earnings on a tour around the Serbian Krajina. However, they are thrust into the heart of war and begin to wander from warfront to warfront. After having experienced all the horrors of war and having even been on the brink of death on a few occasions, they return to their theatre as different people.
