This video is a small part from the Italian documentary La Donna Nel Mundo (women of the world), released in 1963 by filmakers Gualtiero Jacopetti and Franco Prosperi. The tribe Hibitoe of Papua New Guinea gives us an insight on what a society is like when social gender roles are reversed compared with heteronormative-traditional model of gender in Western culture. It is obvious that the gender expression of men is "feminim" and women's gender expression is "masculine". Men during a day are dealing with the care of their appearance, particularly the exquisite care of their hair and the decoration of their body with colored mud in various elaborate patterns seem to be the main part of their daily occupation. On the contrary women during a day are engaged in farming, hunting, construction and repair of housing infostructure and of course the physical care and upbringing of their children. At a first glance one might say that this society seems to be unfair to the women since they have many social obligations, but the reality is that women hold the reins of economic, political and religious life of the community. Men are literally the weak sex in that society as they are completely dependent emotionally and financially from women. Nevertheless, the development of homosexual relations between men in the tribe is a fairly common phenomenon and it is not a problem for their heterosexual relations with women.

Held this year (2009) on May 21, it marked the official launch of Fistula Care project activities at a fourth site in Guinea, Labe Regional Hospital, the main hospital of the country's central mountain region. The opening ceremony, held at the amphitheater of the local training center, was well-attended by dignitaries from across the country, including the Governor and the Mayor of Labe, the Mayor of Kissidougou, officials from the Ministries of Health, Social Affairs, and Decentralization, and representatives of the US Ambassador to Guinea and the Mission Director of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which supports Fistula Care. The Peace Corps, United Nations Population Fund, World Health Organization, OIC International, civil society organizations, the private sector, and the media were also represented. Fistula repairs at Labe began in early June. The hospital builds on the successful model Fistula Care developed at other sites in Guinea: Kissidougou District Hospital, Ignace Deen University Teaching Hospital, and Jean Paul II Hospital in Conakry. The United Nations Security Council should consider imposing effective sanctions on the leaders of the Guinea-Bissau coup and their supporters, a UN envoy to Guinea-Bissau said on Monday at the UN headquarters in New York City, the United States. This came after insurgent officers and soldiers of Guinea-Bissau seized power on April 12, ahead of the presidential run-off elections scheduled for April 22 between former prime minister Gomes Júnior and former president, Kumba Yala. The UN envoy held that sanctions are necessary to solve the country's crisis as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the international society including the UN Security Council has been condemning the country's military. Joseph Mutaboba, representative of the UN secretary-general to Guinea Bissau, pointed out that the Guinea Bissau's military refused to restore civil officials' rule despite worldwide condemnation. The country's political, security, human rights and socio-economic situation has been deteriorating everyday. Mutaboba emphasized that a 'sustainable-solution' must be one that is inclusive of all national stakeholders, given the divisions between political and military groups in Guinea-Biaasu. He will continue to work with national actors to foster dialogues among various segments of the society aimed at reaching a consensual solution. Papua New Guinea / Papua Niugini(PNG), officially the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, is a country in Oceania, occupying the eastern half of the island of New Guinea and numerous offshore islands (the western portion of the island is a part of the Indonesian provinces of Papua and West Papua).
