the best pellets for your pigs is Oxbow Cavie Cuisine for pigs 6 months and over. For pregnet, nursing, and pigs under 6 months they should have Cavie Performance. Don't every feed your pigs the pellets with the colored bits and peices because they're artificaled colored and are bad for piggies. The best hay is Oxbow, any of the kinds of their hay. Also, kleenmamas hay is very popular with a lot of people. Then for bedding, carefresh is what I use. There's also kilmdried pine, but NOT regular pine cuz that causes respitory infections. It's a no no to make a guinea pig hungry because it will result to sleepless nights.lol.. Here's my hungry piggies begging for food. A day before I shot this video, I forgot to buy them pellets which is a basic need of a guinea pig or shall I say a basic tool for you too avoid sleepless nights..lol..well, the pet shop where I buy their pellets was under renovation for 1 month and they've been eating cucumber and dill for the past 2 days, and me without a good sleep for the past 2 days because they squeak very loud specially at night when they really eat a lot. This video shows how a gentle guinea pigs beg and fight for food.. Enjoy!

Sick guinea pigs require force-feeding for survival. However, if you choose the right formulas and a gentle way to offer food, there is no "force" needed! With this video we would like to demonstrate that syringe feeding can be pleasant for your cavies. In our Marumoto Cavy Rescue house, sick animals are carefully fed with a small needleless syringe. Small amounts of such special food (with plenty of vitamin C) are given to all volunteering cavies: in this way they learn to associate the syringe with a tasty experience. PLEASE BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHILE DOING IT YOURSELF: feed only the approved formulas, and never ever force the animal, or try to feed it too fast. This may result in choking. Been to pets at home today for a few bits and bobs for the Guinea pigs. Please note - all treats are perfectly healthy when fed in moderation. I will most likely give my piggies a few treats a day. Guinea pigs should not be fed treats which contain dairy or youghurts. Guinea pigs are lactose intolerant. Alfalfa is also a popular food choice; most guinea pigs will eat large amounts of alfalfa when offered it, though there exists some controversy over the feeding of alfalfa to adult guinea pigs. Some pet owners and veterinary organizations have advised that, as a legume rather than a grass hay, alfalfa consumed in large amounts may lead to obesity, as well as bladder stones due to excess calcium, in any but pregnant and very young guinea pigs. However, published scientific sources mention alfalfa as a source for replenishment of protein, amino acids, and fiber. I will be feeding my Guinea pigs alfalfa cubes once a week as a treat only.
