Billed as the "ABC and D of Boogie Woogie", this was a superb performance of old-time Boogie Woogie Piano Music, featuring Boogie Pianists Axel Zwingenberger {Germany}, Ben Waters {UK}, drummer Charlie Watts {of Rolling Stones fame}, and Dave Green {UK} on Double Bass. Having done several shows during 2009, the Band received an invitation to appear on the BBC's Later TV Program with Jools Holland. This Movie Clip has three main parts : 1 : Interview with Charlie Watts {with a short clip of Albert Ammons and Pete Johnson}. 2 : Axel and Ben playing a Boogie Duo accompanied by Charlie and Dave. 3 : The Band are joined by Jools Holland to make it three Pianists on two Grand Pianos!

Three quarters of the Sahara is without vegetation and due to the angle of the sun, it is the hottest region on Earth. The unique charm of this barren and arid world is a total fascination and it is for good reason described as a 'wonder of nature'!

With a route length of 57 km (35.4 mi) and a total of 151.84 km (94.3 mi) of tunnels, shafts and passages, it is the world's longest rail tunnel, surpassing the undersea Seikan Tunnel in Japan. The project consists of two single track tunnels. It is part of the AlpTransit project, also known as the New Railway Link through the Alps (NRLA), which also includes the Lötschberg Base Tunnel between the cantons of Bern and Valais. It bypasses the 19th century Gotthardbahn, a winding mountain route across the Saint-Gotthard Massif, and establishes a direct route usable by high-speed rail and heavy freight trains. After 64 percent of Swiss voters accepted the AlpTransit project in a 1992 referendum, construction of the tunnel began in 1996. Boring operations in the eastern tunnel were completed on 15 October 2010 in a cut-through ceremony broadcast live on Swiss TV. When it opens for traffic in late 2017, the tunnel will cut the 3.5-hour travel time from Zürich to Milan by an hour and from Zürich to Lugano to 1 hour 40 minutes. Jorg Hegemann is a fantastic exponent of Boogie Woogie piano playing, with a real crowd-pleasing style that always gets audiences literally whopping with delight. Jorg announced this piece as "Wall Street Diver" and went on to say that he wrote it as a tribute to the great pianist Albert Ammons, whose wonderful style of Boogie Woogie playing has had such a great influence and inspiration in Jorg's own work. This video is of the Douglas Dauntless SBD US Navy dive bomber of WWII. I put together this video at the request of an enthusiastic YouTube viewer. All the footage is of the Planes of Fame Museum's (Chino, California) very rare Douglas SBD. I had the honor of meeting Lt. Richard Best (US Navy, Annapolis Class of 1932) at one of the Planes of Fame Museum's monthly seminars and got to talk to him about his historic actions flying the SBD at the Battle of Midway during WWII. This was very shortly before his death at age 92 in 2002. Lt. Best was featured in the National Geographic Magazine cover feature of April 1999. Lt. Best put the first bomb into the deck of the Japanese carrier Akagi and was credited with the disabling of that ship. I haven't read this anywhere elso before, but Lt. Best told me that he put a second bomb into the Agagi that wiped out most of the Zeros parked on the carrier's deck. He also put a bomb into the carrier Hiryu. Not too shabby a record for one mission, no? Ironically, this was Lt. Best's first and last combat mission. His lungs were damaged by the aircraft's oxygen system when the system ran low on oxygen (calcium hydroxide burning - please check my recollection of the facts on this) and he never flew again as a result. He later contracted tuberculosis but recovered to live to a ripe old age. It was just fascinating talking to him about his wartime experiences.
