| | Adam Fergusson talks to James Turk Duration : 2095 Seconds Subscribe to our newsletter at www.goldmoney.com Historian Adam Fergusson discusses his cult-classic history of the Weimar hyperinflation, When Money Dies, with James Turk from the GoldMoney Foundation. They discuss the fateful decisions that led to hyperinflation in post-First World War Germany, and how central bankers as well as ordinary members of the public today would be well advised to heed this warning from history. Fergusson discusses how the hyperinflation affected different groups in German society in different ways -- with debtors benefitting and huge numbers of middle-class savers wiped out. Riots, corruption and political extremism were just some of the malignancies encouraged by the hyperinflation. He points out that those who held hard currencies as well as people who held tangible assets like gold and silver were in-large part protected from the worst economic consequences of the hyperinflation. In his words: "gold remained at all times in Germany the measure of what was important to them." James and Adam discuss whether or not today there is any way for governments in the developed world to repay their huge debts. Both men conclude that inflation is the only politically viable method of repudiating these unmanageable obligations. Fergusson highlights the importance of velocity and the demand for money in determining whether or not inflation turns into hyperinflation -- though points out that this tipping point can take a surprisingly long-time to arrive ... It explores Adolf Hitler's rise and his early consolidation of power during the years after World War I and focuses on how the embittered, politically fragmented and economically buffeted state of German society following the war made that ascent possible. The film also focuses on Ernst Hanfstaengl's influence on Hitler's rise to power. The miniseries, which premiered simultaneously in May 2003 on CBC in Canada and CBS in the United States, received two Emmy awards. The film's subplot follows the struggles of Fritz Gerlich, a German journalist who opposes the rising National Socialist German Workers Party. He is portrayed as to fulfill the essence of the quotation disputably attributed to Edmund Burke, which is displayed at the beginning and at the end of the film: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." The story revolves around Adolf Hitler, from his childhood with his authoritarian father Alois and beloved mother Klara, to his life as a destitute student trying to pursue a career as an artist. It also documents his gradual embrace of anti-semitism. Hitler is then shown to join the German Workers' Party and befriends Ernst Röhm, leading to the Munich Beer Hall Putsch and finally his quest to become Chancellor of Germany. In this film, Hitler's rise is largely attributed to Ernst Hanfstaengl, who ... | | The Third Reich, The Vril & Gizeh Intelligence Duration : 2637 Seconds Nazi UFOs (German: Haunebu, Hauneburg-Geräte, or Reichsflugscheiben) are advanced aircraft or spacecraft that Nazi Germany supposedly developed during World War II and Nazi scientists continued to develop afterwards. These craft appear not only in fiction but also in various historical revisionist writings. They often appear in connection with esoteric Nazism, an ideology that supposes the possibility of Nazi restoration by supernatural or paranormal means. Nazi UFO theories agree with mainstream history on the following points: Nazi Germany claimed the territory of New Swabia, sent an expedition there in 1938, and planned others. Nazi Germany conducted research into advanced propulsion technology, including rocketry and Viktor Schauberger's turbine work. Some UFO sightings during World War II, particularly those known as foo fighters, were thought to be enemy aircraft. The earliest non-fictional reference to Nazi flying saucers appears to be a series of articles by and about Italian turbine expert Giuseppe Belluzzo. The following week, German scientist Rudolph Schriever claimed to have developed flying saucers during the Nazi period. Aeronautical engineer Roy Fedden remarked that the only craft that could approach the capabilities attributed to flying saucers were those being designed by the Germans towards the end of the war. Fedden also added that the Germans were working on a number of very unusual aeronautical projects, though he did not elaborate upon his statement ... | | Clive Barker's Jericho - The Path of Souls (Lichthammer) Duration : 422 Seconds Hanne Lichthammer During the 1930s an occultist society deeply entwined with the German government began to investigate the Legend of the Firstborn in their attempts to identify how paranormal and psychic phenomenon could advance the war effort. In doing so they established a clandestine fighting force, The Gehimsaivoll Abwehrmacht, and its rising star was Psychic Squadron Leader Hanne Lichthammer. Lichthammer was the paradigm of Teutonic beauty: tall and slim, a blue-eyed blonde... but she had a black heart that was as cold as ice. From a very young age she showed a clear tendency toward sadism and destruction. As a telepath capable of reading and controlling minds, she was recruited by the army as an interrogator and torturer. She demonstrated her brutal efficiency in the field during the Spanish civil war. Germany answered Franco's call for aid and the northern front became a testing ground for various German forces. The Condor Legion was supplied by Luftwaffe "volunteers" who tested out new aircraft and strategies, including the first recorded use of indiscriminate carpet bombing which would go on the claim hundreds of thousands of civilian casualties. The new crops of the Gehimsaivoll Abwehrmacht, camouflaged as logistical and intelligence support, were attached to the Condor Legion. The corps carried out paranormal and psychic interrogations and assassinations on military and civilian targets under the leadership of Lichthammer, who mixed business with pleasure ... Born Arthur Flegenheimer on August 6, 1902, in New York, New York. During his relatively brief life, Dutch Schultz became a powerful figure in the New York crime world, earning the nicknames "Beer Baron of the Bronx" and "The Dutchman." The son of Jewish immigrants from Germany, he grew up in the slums of the Bronx. His father abandoned the family when Schultz was in his early teens. Soon after, he left school and started working odd jobs. Schultz discovered that crime was more lucrative than a day job. He was arrested for burglary and served 17 months in prison for the crime at the age of 17—his only prison sentence ever. After his release, Schultz returned to the streets and his gang of thugs. His associates gave him the nickname "Dutch Schultz" after a local gangster known for his violent, brutal ways. In the 1920s, Schultz got involved in bootlegging beer during the Prohibition and was once associated with notorious gangsters Lucky Luciano and Legs Diamond. Schultz eventually bought a partnership in an illegal saloon. Ruthless and determined, he formed a gang with friend and fellow criminal Joey Noe. They built an illegal beer business selling beer in New York, intimidating rival saloons into buying from them. Schultz even went as far as kidnapping and torturing a man who refused to buy their booze. The group expanded its operations from the Bronx into Manhattan. But this led to a conflict ...
