Increasingly, English seem to be encroaching on the German language. The German Language Association has registered some 6000 pseudo-anglicisms and is determined to stop the invasion. Its campaign is supported by a number of companies such as Dr.Oetker and Porsche, which are now dispensing with Anglicisms in their advertising. Members of the German Parliament are also fleshing out strategies to protect the German language. Ultimately, they want to see this enshrined in the Constitution.

From the vinyl LP "Für Dich, Mutter" - Austrian singer Peter Alexander does a German language cover version of the song originally written in 1941 by Cesare Andrea Bixio with Italian lyrics by Bruno Cherubini. In 1946, the English lyrics were written by Harold Barlow and Phil Brito. Connie Francis had an English hit witn it in 1960 (as well as the Italian version) & Dutch singer Heintje had a German language hit with it in 1967.

In this video I'm speaking in five languages. Unfortunately, however, the end of the video was cut off because I had forgotten that using my camera I cannot make videos that last for more than 10 minutes. Anyway, I hope you'll still enjoy this video. Next time I might be making a video where I'll try and speak the other four languages I have studied.
