German actor Hans Albers shot himself to fame in 1930 with the movie Der Greifer. Here Albers plays Sgt. Harry Cross. Representing Scotland Yard he mingles with the cream of British society to bring a murderer to justice. Greeting everyone with off-handed cheerfulness, Albers is able to put the culprit at ease long enough to tighten the noose. He also wins the girl of his dreams, Dolly Mooreland, fetchingly played by Charlotte Susa. Hans Albers was the single biggest male movie star in Germany between 1930 and 1945 and one of the most popular German actors of the twentieth century. Albers starred in a 1958 remake of the film once again playing the role of the retiring police superintendent.

But it's a wonderful lovestory: Pierre and Natascha were best friends in the beginning and had different relationships til they recognized what they really felt for eachother when they were seperated a long time during war. All the clips are taken from "War and Peace", made in 2007, an european film production in 4 parts directed by Robert Dornhelm starring gorgeous Clémence Poésy as Natascha and famous german actor Alexander Beyer as Pierre. *DISCLAIMER: I own nothing. Actors: Germany - Kyros (voiced by Andrew Ross) America - OurLadyeofParis (voiced by Sean Stewart) England - Goldfish (voiced by Zachary Harvat) France - Milamber (voiced by Andrew Ross) Japan - cimerii (voiced by cimerii) Italy - Waffle (voiced by OurLadye) After World War I, the Treaty of Versailles was convened to end the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers. Initially comprised of the five major victors, Japan and Italy soon left the negotiations. Japan had been refused a racial equality clause, and yes, Italy did turn traitor on Germany during the course of war. With just the "big three" left, it was decided that Germany must take the full blame for the war, including the price thereof. France, having been left weak after the devastation of the war, was mainly interested in security, England's chief goal was economic reparations, and America took a conciliatory approach in the proceedings. One of the clauses in the agreement also led to the formation of the League of Nations, which the allied powers hoped would prevent war in the future. Of course, it was in the aftermath of the devastating treaty- a treaty which robbed Germany of its dignity and any hope of prosperity- that the country took arms in war again, this time with Italy and Japan as the Axis Powers. (won a Judge's Award for best acting)

I hadn't been to Berlin since I was 16, so this was a super special destination for me! A place with such historical importance, it practically hits you in the face around every corner. We did an amazingly informative walking tour with Maria from Insider Tours, followed by an insane pub crawl around all the local spots. After a much needed sleep in, I took our new friends Gary, Jessica and Michele to a restaurant called KartoffelKeller (Potato Cellar) that I'd visited 7 years ago and could never forget. We stuffed our faces until we popped! Finally, we hit up the East Side Gallery & DDR museum for an afternoon of art and intrigue! Next up: Rhapsody Trek! My tribut to Jennifer Ulrich as Charlotte, who just blow me away with her acting. IMO the best part of the whoule movie.
